That's why I said "most". 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Pinocchio' Platinum Editions, and 'Snow White' and 'Beauty and the Beast' Diamond editions were 2 disc releases, other Diamond titles were 1 disc only.

Art galleries is one of the special features I enjoy the most, specially for Disney titles, and it's a shame they don't include them anymore. Even 'The Lion King' had galleries, but 'Cinderella', 'Lady and the Tramp', 'Peter Pan' and now 'The Little Mermaid' do not, and all of them had gorgeous galleries on their Platinum Editions DVDs. So it is possible this new 'Sleeping Beauty' Diamond edition will drop the (awesome) galleries as well, and some more stuff from the previous 2 Disc release.

I really don't understand Disney, they also released great regular editions for 'Dumbo' and 'Alice in Wonderland', better than some Diamond ones.

Lady and the Tramp's art galleries are found on the Second Screen feature - you can study the actual background art and concept art while you're watching the movie, pausing if you have to. The Second Screen feature on Lady and the Tramp is one of their best. Highly recommended.

Except for the Nintendo Systems.... I think that 2nd screen stuff is terrible...

I think it is a thrill to be able to examine the actual clean-up animation, frame at a time...to see the actual backgrounds in high-def...to branch off to short clips and insights. I love the Second Screen apps, Cinderella's lackluster offering being a notable exception.

just sold my copy on ebay for $30, so I will buy the rerelease when it come out and probably get the new ( hopefully 3d ) edition for $25

More like a downgrade. It will be most likely the same transfer with less bonus features and of course there won't be a 3D conversion.

Maleficent is out this year, so they have to do the obligatory home release tie-in.

Those covers can't be real. There's no way Disney is going to use the exact same covers that they used on the last Platinum release.

Anyway, I am sure they'll change the transfer somehow, but I agree with everyone else. I just can't imagine them keeping all the old bonus stuff. They'll probably ditch half of em and replace the rest with crap. I can't believe that member sold his old set. He might come to regret that.

There was never any indication that Disney was working on a 3D conversion for Sleeping Beauty, was there?

They canceled The Little Mermaid's theatrical 3D re-release and that was the last announced one, so I think I'll take those covers with a grain of salt. Plus, as mentioned, they use identical artwork to the Platinum Edition from 2008, which I don't think Disney would do, despite their generally lazy efforts for covers.

But I would love Sleeping Beauty in 3D. I already have Sleeping Beauty on blu, so a 3D edition is the only way Disney would get me to buy the 2014 release.

Knowing Disney, they probably won't and re-release this with less special features.
