Hong Kong Sammy's Great Escape AKA A Turtle's Tale 2 3D Blu-ray (2012) [Region Locked / Free]

aka Sammy's Adventures 2 aka Sammy 2

The US, UK, Australian, Hong Kong and Candian releases all include English audio and are region locked. The only confirmed English-friendly region free release is the Belgian release from Belga films. Editions from other non-English speaking countries do not include English audio or subtitles.

Region A: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sammy...Blu-ray/62505/
Region B: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sammy...Blu-ray/73232/

Original post:
http://www.amazon.fr/Sammy-Blu-ray-3...4414820&sr=8-2

I'm trying to locate an english version of this movie but so far I can only find a trailer on youtube.

Cool. Thanks for posting this.

The studio needs to get Sammy 3D I and Sammy 3D Turtle 2 over here in the US. I see the 2D version at Target, but won't buy the movie until it's in 3D $24 and under. 36$ is too high to import a movie.

you're partially right, it's too high to import a lousy movie.

It's worth every penny if it's something that you really enjoy, are planning on multiple viewings, and have no other options. The wife & I thoroughly enjoy the first one and my Vudu HDX download didn't offer subtitles, so importing the HK Blu was a no-brainer.
We don't go to movie theaters at all any more, so it's easy to justify the cost when most folks spend more than $36 each time they go out to see a movie and have nothing but a memory to show for wasting their money on something they don't physically own like a Blu-ray.

I'd love to see a sequel to Sammy's first adventure and I wouldn't hesitate to import it also if there wasn't a U.S. release.

Looks like this is being released on Blu-ray in France on 15 December 2012 along with a Sammy 1 & 2 box set. Sammy 2 hasn't even had a theatrical release yet in the US; did Sammy 1 even get released theatrically in the US?

No, direct to video, excluding 3D.

Default Sammy's Great Escape: Sammy 2 - Region B

It's available here in New Zealand now! (has it been released UKside yet?)

http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/Blu-ray-3D/Sammys-Great-Escape-3D-Blu-rayBlu-ray/21390710/?r=1812902

Current price is NZ$35 which equates to roughly UK17.80 - mightyape does ship internationally, but doesnt list a price due to it being dependant on size/weight/etc - it does say though that it will give a price at checkout before you confirm your order....

Anyway..there's an option for those who have been looking for this title...

Watched it yesterday, its great, I don't think it beats the first for 3D pop but the adventure story is fun indeed.

I don't have the BD of Sammy 1 as I find it too expensive but I did rent it in HDX and it's comparable to other 3D movies from BD I've watched if that helps.

The first Sammy's movie is literally the best 3D I have ever seen and it's a legit good movie. This second movie might be the most disappointing movie I've seen in a long time. Not only was the 3D subpar but the animation, voice acting and writing was terrible. I would not recommend this to anyone. If you loved the first one just be happy with it and don't believe for a second you'll be getting anything remotely close to it.

i thought the 3d was every bit as strong as part 1, but the accents had all changed to usa ones and it was a bit naff as a film

If you buy the Hong Kong edition of the first film all the voice actors are American anyway (no John Hurt - boo!) but either way they are definitely more low-rent in the sequel.

Nothing comes remotely close to the 3D in A Turtle's Tale. It makes Pixar's use of 3D look miserably pathetic in comparison.

Let's not forget "Thunder and the House of Magic". Still my favorite movie to show the 3D off to friends.

I'd say that's nWave's second strongest 3D movie - still blows all competition out of the water though...

Since I love cats this is easily one of my favorite movies, 3D or otherwise.
I have never really taken to the Sammy movies. I know the 3D is A+ but I did not enjoy the story.

How is the actual movie though? Many Pixar movies are classics with or without 3D. TOY STORY, RATATOUILLE, THE INCREDIBLES are masterpieces in many ways.

I haven't seen A TURTLE'S TALE, but are you saying that it is better than those Pixar movies -- or just that stuff pops out a lot more like JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH with Brendan Fraser?

I've watched all the Pixar 3d movies at least once and have enjoyed them all.
The combination of story + 3D in Turtle's tale is such a treat to watch.
I've watched part 1 and 2 more than 10 times each. I love the stories and the 3D is fantastic!
