Huge Indy fan and huge Harrison Ford fan.

Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones.

That being said, it is time to reboot! As much as Sean Connery was 007, people can get past a reboot if they get the casting and the story right.

Pratt definitely looks the part. Take a look at the picture posted above. Pratt also can do comedy which is a huge part of the role. It doesn't mean that Indy is going to turn into a slapstick comedy, but he can do the humor when needed. So I am all for Pratt taking over the role as long as they get the story right and make a quality Indiana Jones film.

Many people were against Daniel Craig being 007 (he certainly did not LOOK the part). But Casino Royale was a great James Bond movie and he clearly has been a success.

I want some quality new Indiana Jones movies. Sure I would love a younger Ford doing them, but that is not going to happen. I would rather they recast and we get a great Indiana Jones movie, then to see an older Ford in the abomination Crystal Skulls was. Thankfully, we won't ever have to see Shia taking the reins.

It really comes down to the script. These are actors after all. Can Chris do comedy? Yes. Does it mean he is going to make Indy too hammy? Not necessarily. I am assuming this would have to do with the script, the director and the actor. I would think Chris would bring a bit of his own style to the character (instead of trying to do a complete impersonation of Ford), but the character of Indiana Jones is still a character which everyone expects to act and behave in a certain manner. I am sure they would work to get the proper balance of humor to make sure they did not disfranchise all of the long standing fans. Indiana Jones doesn't need to be "fixed" (unless you consider the last adventure a trend). Indiana Jones' adventures just need to continue with a younger actor playing Indy.

You seem to confuse hammy acting with playing something for comedy (not the same thing), which is what he was required to do for Guardians and which he did perfectly. There is no reason why he can't adjust to a part with different requirements, he seems talented enough.

I think a series reboot is inevitable, and that picture actually rocks. I'll have to see Chris Pratt in Guardians* and Jurassic World first (my memories of him are purely from Everwood, ha ha), but he looks the part.

* Yes, I know I'm behind the times. And I even own the movie. But with AOU coming up, I've got to watch all the Marvel movies in order first.

As much as I loved Pratt in Guardians, I already have the feeling he will do a variation of that character every single time from now on. His part in JW, casting him as Dr. Jones. Typecasting till people get sick of it, I give it a year or five before that happens.

I wouldn't mind a reboot with Chris Pratt. The bar was set so low with Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull that to go lower would require a shovel, so they can't really do anymore damage to the series.

He's played Harrison Ford already in Guardians of the Galaxy. While I like it, that's just how I feel while watching that film, it was inspired by Star Wars.

I got a feeling that we're gonna see a more straight laced CP with his Jurassic World character, so after that we should get a better idea of whether he can juggle the serious with the silly which is demanded by the Indy character.

I've said plenty in the other Indy threads about how Temple is one of my favourites because it's not chasing Raiders (no Nazis, no biblical MacGuffins, no Marion etc), but if they take him back to the WWII era then it'd be great to see him actually in the war working for the OSS.

From the trailer I've seen, it seems Chris Prat is acting in a B rated film. A good actor shouldn't appear to be acting, or make Jurassic Park into a B rated film.

Yes, because you can judge a two plus hour film from a two minute trailer... Maybe once we see the film in full, and his performance, you can actually accurately judge his performance.

Jumping to conclusions from little or no evidence is what forms are all about.

I'd love to see a new take with Chris Pratt. Was never really a fan of the originals.

Exactly. Online fans are the best judge of stuff. I mean what does Hollywood know?

Not much judging from most of their current output.

To be fair, you could have said the same thing about Ford back in the late 70s.

I always thought the guy who played Sawyer on LOST would've made a good Indy. He's probably too old now.

Just digitally scan Harrison Ford's body and make the whole thing a CGI cartoon.
