John Hancock's LET''S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH and Michael Mann's THE KEEP - yes, both of these are flawed, but they're nonetheless highly atmospheric and ambitious cult oddities.

Hancock was the original director of JAWS 2 and was fired a month into shooting for his darker, moodier take on the material; man, I'd have loved to have seen some of that footage. Mann's dissatisfaction with THE KEEP may well be the reason we never get a release and that's a real pity as there are some great things in it, and it's very much in his unique visual style (that dreamlike opening to the hypnotic beat of Tangerine Dream as Jurgen Prochnow and his men wind through a rainswept mountain pass to the keep is one of my favorite openings in all of 80s cinema).

There seems to be a lot of love for Addams Family Values here. So the big question is, what's Paramounts problem with not releasing this?

The Ghost Breakers
The Ghost Breakers is coming from Kino. It's part of their Universal deal since Uni owns nearly all of the sound films made at Paramount pre-1950. I believe the Insider stated that they'll release it with a fresh new transfer so I'm def looking forward to it.

For me the absolute top Paramounts are:

The Parallax View (please!!)
Play it Again Sam
Targets (Bogdanovich)
The Tenant

Just these four and I’ll be a very happy man.

I pre-ordered the 9 movie Western Collection BD set from Paramount at Amazon Germany for $24. I'll waste $24 just to see how bad the PQ is for Hud. If Criterion, or Kino Lorber, or even Paramount ever release a U.S. BD of Hud, I will gladly purchase that. For now, depending on the PQ, I'll use the German BD as a placeholder.

Everyone else's lists have just about every title in my wish list. I don't think I saw these, so I'll add the following:

Will Penny
Starting Over
The Last Tycoon
The Gambler (1974)

Thanks, I actually bought that version on Amazon, for about $10. It's decent and has some pretty good extras. But if Paramount can issue a remastered version, I'm in.

Yes, forgot Dragonslayer!! I am shocked it hasn't been released yet, with all the hype from Game of Thrones, The Hobbit series and How to Train Your Dragon. Question is will Paramount release it or did Disney aquire it? Hopefully, it's Paramount as this is a dark, violent movie.
