-The theatrical cut. -The director's cut, which comes from the theatrical cut but has some extra gore (like when The Shape slams that guy's head into the bars near the end, he actually pushes his head through the bars and it splits into pieces), and a couple of extra scenes (the new sheriff talking to Loomis for one). -The producer's cut. -The workprint, which is essentially the producer's cut with the timecode at the bottom and with music from the original Halloween used in place of Alan Howarth's music, which was yet to be incorporated in the film. -The television cut, which is the theatrical cut with some extra scenes from the producer's cut like the extra campus scenes with Kara Strode and the extended conversation with Loomis and Wynn at Loomis' house near the beginning of the film. It's the closest to being the perfect cut of the film in my opinion. It's what AMC used to show as well as the old superstations and networks like TBS, TNT, WSBK Boston, WNAC Providence, WGN, etc. |

It's not the same two discs from the boxset. Scream's extras are Scream's extras. Lionsgate may be on the back of the art in the boxset but Lionsgate and Miramax didn't pay for those new extras. And with the low retail price, it is also doubtful that Lionsgate even bothered to license them from Scream.

[Show spoiler] Then there's the fact that Curse was the 1st Halloween movie I ever got to see in the theater and I absolutely loved it. I was 17 and thought it was great. So the Pcut already had that working against it where I'm concerned. I'm glad to have the Pcut and I'm so glad it's getting a standalone release. But in terms of which one I think is better... There's not really any comparison. I'll take the Tcut. There are elements I really love about the Pcut. But as a whole it's just too slow with zero payoff.

I prefer that since the runes angle ties into the film's mystical overtones better. Plus, I always thought Michael getting pumped full of . . . whatever that green stuff was and beaten with a pipe felt like a lazy retread of the previous film's ending, where Loomis shoots him with tranquilizers and beats him unconscious with a 2x4.

Yeah... That's another gem! All the while Michael just stands there.

Until someone posts a photo or details I don't believe anyone that claims to have this already. You can take the time to come here and say you've got it but not the extra 30 seconds to list what's included. I smell troll or BS.. either way it doesn't smell good.
(That's not to say that this won't be a single disc bare bones release, but until someone posts proof I don't believe it.) Just to prove my point... I got this today and it is indeed a 2 disc set. Can't post details at this time. |
