It does if it's remastered. For the record, I haven't spoken anything of it in this thread.

I'll surely enjoy my BD, until I upgrade when I feel good and ready (which may not be until my beautiful plasma dies or 8K OLED comes out or whatever the hell is next).

If you're wondering what I'm doing here, I actually currently have a UHD player that is going back to the store next week. It's "not satisfying my needs."

This kind of backwards thinking is what’s killing physical media in the first place. Might as well complain that it doesn’t come with a VHS copy while you’re at it. This outrage culture to complain about everything has jumped the shark, and no one cares anymore.

Erm... what? I'm not sure that having one doesn't mean we can't support another. I personally like having copies of each. I love having the 4K discs in my man cave, but also love having the remastered Blu-ray discs available for when I watch something with my wife or family in another part of the house. Sometimes we want to be in the living room by the fire place, sometimes we like to lay in bed and watch something. Not going to upgrade my whole house to 4K. Not sure why we can't have the best of both worlds. I mean, I get there are business reasons, but it's still disappointing.

Have you actually watched anything on it? Unless your equipment and/or set-up is poor, it’s hard to imagine how you could have and then still care what the included standard BD looks like. Do you care what master is used on a DVD included with your standard BD purchase? Except in the rare cases of a poorly made UHD, the BD is useless to me. And this UHD isn’t out yet- we have no evidence it will be badly made.

The US covers could be different though. Like with the Lara Croft Tomb Raider 4K UHD. The European releases (re)use the BD cover artwork while the US cover is new.

I think that the US releases might use the same cover art as the BD reissues that came out last month and match better with World.

It won't happen but I wish they'd just do the original poster art for the first film. It's one of the most iconic one-sheets ever for a reason. Black background. Logo. Tagline. Done.

I always wonder, when it comes to a re-release, if there's a lot of thought to the presentation or none at all. It always seems to be on point or garbage. It doesn't stop me from purchasing, but sometimes I shake my head and wonder who gave it a go.

They're supposedly releasing that original logo-on-black design in Steelbook form with similar treatment for the rest of the movies as well.

They also have them on Czech UHD's from FilmaArena (in Czech though). http://www.filmarena-eng.com/blu-ray...-i-4k-ultra-hd

Often re-releases have covers that are market tested to draw in new purchasers. It's why re-releases of older movies often don't use the original poster art; they tend to avoid anything that makes the movie look "old" (because some people will skip a movie if it looks too old). The covers aren't really designed to look pretty. They're designed to catch eyes on shop shelves and make people want to pick them up.

Yeah I guess it's definitely a possibility. I'm hoping that's the case.
Maybe if we're real lucky there will be some nice looking steelbook too?

I definitely like those better. I think their artwork makes Jurassic World fit in better too. Still. I'd prefer the original poster art.

Ouch. Plasma? What year is this? I retired my Kuro elite and Panny a long time ago, they were not “satisfying my needs” of the current times.

Most definitely, I know that! But when it's something like this, I suspect a small amount of people buying these 4k copies will be new customers to the Jurassic Park series. Something like the 10th, 25th or 50th anniversary releases that receive new covers are designed that way, but, in my opinion, this wouldn't fall in that category.

I guess it also bothers me on a personal note because I design for a living and could do better. Obviously, the designer of these covers has people above him telling him what to do, I just would like to be a fly on the wall during these conversations to see the depth or lack of conversation.

So you retired the only panels able to perfectly resolve the 1080 lines in movement, and with pixel perfect managment of grain, for a panel unable to this even if they’re natively 4 times higer in resolution?
If you wanted OLED black on your plasma, all you had to do was access the KRP’s Service and lower VOL RTS.
Sell the definitive HD sets of the only tecnlogy free from motion blur (along with CRT) for a product that still has problems and improves every year while decresing in price doesn’t sound like a great deal for movie lover.

What if the cover for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom doesn't fit alongside the others?

For some reason I never liked that JW cover. I wish they'd use something like this:

I'd prefer something like this one which fits the style of the others above but to a better degree:
