I'll surely enjoy my BD, until I upgrade when I feel good and ready (which may not be until my beautiful plasma dies or 8K OLED comes out or whatever the hell is next). If you're wondering what I'm doing here, I actually currently have a UHD player that is going back to the store next week. It's "not satisfying my needs." |

Erm... what? I'm not sure that having one doesn't mean we can't support another. I personally like having copies of each. I love having the 4K discs in my man cave, but also love having the remastered Blu-ray discs available for when I watch something with my wife or family in another part of the house. Sometimes we want to be in the living room by the fire place, sometimes we like to lay in bed and watch something. Not going to upgrade my whole house to 4K. Not sure why we can't have the best of both worlds. I mean, I get there are business reasons, but it's still disappointing.

Have you actually watched anything on it? Unless your equipment and/or set-up is poor, it’s hard to imagine how you could have and then still care what the included standard BD looks like. Do you care what master is used on a DVD included with your standard BD purchase? Except in the rare cases of a poorly made UHD, the BD is useless to me. And this UHD isn’t out yet- we have no evidence it will be badly made.

I always wonder, when it comes to a re-release, if there's a lot of thought to the presentation or none at all. It always seems to be on point or garbage. It doesn't stop me from purchasing, but sometimes I shake my head and wonder who gave it a go.

They're supposedly releasing that original logo-on-black design in Steelbook form with similar treatment for the rest of the movies as well.

Often re-releases have covers that are market tested to draw in new purchasers. It's why re-releases of older movies often don't use the original poster art; they tend to avoid anything that makes the movie look "old" (because some people will skip a movie if it looks too old). The covers aren't really designed to look pretty. They're designed to catch eyes on shop shelves and make people want to pick them up.

I guess it also bothers me on a personal note because I design for a living and could do better. Obviously, the designer of these covers has people above him telling him what to do, I just would like to be a fly on the wall during these conversations to see the depth or lack of conversation. |

If you wanted OLED black on your plasma, all you had to do was access the KRP’s Service and lower VOL RTS. Sell the definitive HD sets of the only tecnlogy free from motion blur (along with CRT) for a product that still has problems and improves every year while decresing in price doesn’t sound like a great deal for movie lover. |

For some reason I never liked that JW cover. I wish they'd use something like this:
