CDPR have said that the game will benefit from being played on PS5. Their PC spec sheet even insists on playing from an SSD, therefore I don't think the load times will be as bad as the Witcher 3.

Mine is pre-ordered Digitally months back.

I don’t plan to download this game on PS4. However, if my PS5 is delayed a few weeks, I may cave.

I had a bajillion games pre-ordered, but I'm honestly just going to cancel them all and just pick up Cyberpunk because it'll honestly be what I play after that first week for a while anyways.

Is there actually a different version to buy for PS5?

No

Just current gen Xbox & PS & PC.

I expect CDPR to re-release a PS5 & Xbox Series X version next year. Hopefully before 2021 ends.

Call me naïve, but if CDPR aren't willing to go Full Fat on the PS5/X2 version of this until 2021, then i can't imagine it looking much better on those machines than on the 1X. I'm going to wait for the Digital Foundry face-off to decide which version to get.

That may be true and i get where you're definitely coming from, but i actually like the fact they're willing to take time to properly assess and leverage next gen hardware and not just jump the gun and consider sales over quality of what they can achieve and i think getting the metrics from the current gen with maybe a small "PS5 Patch" if you will, can be more than good enough. Visually this game looks amazing to me. Can't even imagine a true nwxt gen effort from CDPR.

Narmak, what we are seeing in the best possible footage of the game is taken directly from CP2077 running on highest settings on PC. Do you honestly think they will enhance the game even further beyond those assets for the X2 and PS5? Of course not, they are just going to port over those exact assets after getting to grips fully with the new machines.

The suggested gpu for this thing on pc, the R9 Fury, gives the X2 gpu a serious run for it's money, so getting a version of the game that matches the best possible pC version is what we should be expecting at best.

Well, tbh the newest RTX 3080 is above and beyond the next gen consoles too, but that doesn't mean that CDPR can't take a look at the specific advantages of the set PS5/Series X specs and make it a more consistent experience with hopefully an ides of how to improve it over PS4s.

I’ll be watching reviews just to see how the load times and frame rates are on PS4 Pro. I don’t care enough about graphics to wait for the the PS5 upgrade (or even my buying a PS5 for the boost pre update since I’m nit getting one at launch) to wait in this. But I will wait if the frame rate is unstable (I’m fine worn 30fps if it’s stable) or the load times are godawful.

The game already looks next gen for the most part, but performance will probably be the biggest difference between the PS4 and PS5 versions.
A comparison is something I'm looking forward to seeing too.

Getting the PS4 version to play on PS5.

Good point that a PS4 patch to enhance PS5 gameplay for this PS4 game will help frame rate and loading before the PS5 upgrade.

At this point in time i'm expecting the game to run at 1440p on the PS4 Pro and 1800p on the 1X, at a rock solid 30fps. Hopefully we can get the option of 2160p30 for the PS5 and X2, with Performance Mode to lower the textures but hit a higher frame rate.

I would imagine they'll re-release it with actual next gen versions when they have the full upgrade ready to release for everybody. Or another Complete Edition if all of the DLC is out for it by then. A lot of people will have already bought it, especially here, but obviously a Complete Next Gen Edition is inevitable.

I agree that will likely be one of the biggest differences for the next gen version. I'd be surprised if they can make the visuals look any better other than with higher res textures, and PS5 special effects/raytracing.

Hats off to them if they can get both expansions out a year from now. It would be more practical to release a complete (GOTY Edition) NG version on disc one time with all the bells & whistles.

The game however will get updated regardless post launch for bug fixes & such. While they iron that out, we may see a digital upgrade patch sooner. Either way, we will still benefit from faster load times & if Sony ain’t lying, no jet engine noise on PS5.

I bought The Witcher 3 well after release, so wasn't really sure how long it took for them to release the two expansions for that.

It does also make sense for them to release the patch digitally first. I'm guessing they already have a plan. We just don't know it yet.

Oh bs !!!
Since the 1st delay from april to september,I was calling it that theyre delaying this on purpoise, just so it could launch the same month as the new gen consoles. Mark my words, there is no crunch. No more delays,in fact I believe it was always destined for November.
