Episode 4 is easily the best episode by far, but the show doesn't take off after that. It goes right back into mediocrity.

Yes - we just watched episode one of this, finally. Really liked it. But he feels out of place. Not the right actor here.

Show looks fabulous in Dolby Vision on my 77" OLED too!

I have trouble getting into movies/series that are targeted to a teen audience now. Same with Stranger Things.

I get that it's how Gomez originally looked and the suave good looking hispanic dude was a later addition, but lets face it: Raul casts a VERY long shadow. But I'll let it slide.

What I cant let slide is that there's no chemistry between Gomez and Morticia. Those two should be a seething dynamo of energy and sexual tension, and here? Nothing.

I loved this show all around and didn't mind Gomez' casting in and of itself. But this right here is what I had the biggest problem with. The scenes of Gomez and Morticia flirting with each other felt EXTREMELY forced and there was zero chemistry between Guzman and Zeta-Jones. Even the younger versions felt more genuine.

I generally agree but this was good to me.

Stranger Things sucks now. One epic season that caught us all off guard. A second season that had potential but was getting dangerously off the path by the end. Then....season 3 happened. Barf. Puke. Vomit. Tried a few episodes of S4 and bailed fairly quick.

So far, yeah, not much between them. Zeta Jones looks damn sexy all blacked out though. Make me hurt, please.

I finally started this and I'm loving it so far after 2 episodes. I can't really add anything that hasn't already been said, like Jenna Ortega's performance and just the overall quality of the show, but it's been great so far.

I do have to agree about the chemistry between Gomez and Morticia, but it hasn't bothered me. The scene in the limo in the first episode was still quite good even with their flirting with eachother being kind of weak, but it's easier to let it slide when the scene was already silly in a way anyways.

I know I'm late to the party but I just finished it, what an absolute joy, and Jenna Ortega is going to be a massive break out star. I loved the Tim Burton aesthetic and it feels like he's back to form somewhat as I haven't really liked anything he's done since Big Fish.

Fortunatly the only thing I hate about the show is only a nit pick is because they're in it so little. Wednesday and Thing are perfect but the rest of the Addams Family are woefully (see what I did there?) miscast.

Luis Guzmán as Gomez may look more like the original cartoon but I won't apologize for being a huge fan of the original 2 movies and grew up on the B/W TV show, and for me, Raul Julia embodies what Gomez is about. Luis Guzmán is just too damn ugly to look at and doesn't act like the previous 2 incarnations, it doesn't work. And while Catherine Zeta-Jones looks the part (and easy on the eye despite her age) she doesn't embody the character of Morticia Addams. She acts too normal and doesn't have the quirky or kooky lines that I enjoy so much in the movies. She seems too stiff and feels like she's reading off cue cards (and or didn't bother to learn her lines). I didn't mind Uncle Fester so much, but again he didn't have the darkness or kookiness of the other incarnations, but he was the least worst part of the casting. And as a few people here have said, the chemistry between Gomez and Morticia is non-existent and they're right. It feels like I'm witnessing a SA everytime Gomez tries to engage with Morticia and makes me want to puke. Also, isn't Puglsy a little too young in this? Feels like she should be the same age or older than Wednesday?

But like I said, thank god this is a show based around Wednesday and not the Addams Family as the rest of the cast is utterly wonderful. I'm going to miss a couple come season 2 for obvious reasons. But a special shout out to Emma Myers as Enid, she's so freaking adorable and a perfect Ying to Wenesday's Yang

Loved the show, 8.5/10 and hope for a season 2 quickly as there seems to be a trend these days of seasons taking 2 years to make instead of 1

I guess it depends on how teen leaning the shows are. I have no problem watching things like CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA or SEX EDUCATION. WEDNESDAY was really gunning for the Harry Potter crowd though. And I’d say HP is heavily geared towards just children. If you’re not really into it before age 10 you’re never going to be a super fan.

I’ve never disagreed with an opinion more HP wisely grows up with its audience, getting darker and more complex, but even the early films work for all ages. I’ve met rabid fans of all ages, especially 20+.

Yeah - Im with ya here. The show is just good. Its refreshing & different.

Very pleased and 100% on board for season #2.

I hope Tim Burton returns as director. He pretty much made the show down to his casting choices, design, music and direction much more over the writing.
