Just curious. Do they speak in both? That would be strange. Maybe they are trying anything to broaden it's appeal but politically that could possibly do the opposite.

After seeing the 2D today.

3D - 9.5/10
2D - 7/10

3D IMAX - Stunning strong 3D
2D - Dry and cropped

I will be mortified if this movie isn’t released on Japan 3D Blu-ray

Thanks. Hindi and Urdu will happen in real life but this makes more sense. While I believe the demographic this is portraying don't particularly care, I don't think the mixing of the two languages in this context would be a good idea.

For those interested in Apple Vision Pro, I think it's like $700+ dollars and digital only. Not sure if it's always online connected in order to function. I don't think it can output to TV. 4K 3D could be something if that's achievable though digitally. UHD unfortunately never accounted for 3D for some strange reason it seems. No UHD3D discs. MVC codec not supported, but not sure why they weren't able to offer an alternate option. They likely base it on demand, and didn't want to take the focus away from Ultra High Definition probably.

The film is also not that bad as people are calling it online, although it does have some cringeworthy moments here and there, and some underwhelming aspects (for me) but overall this is a fun time at the cinemas. Here's hoping this gets a MovieNEX 3D Blu-ray in Japan as always.
Yes, I would've expected the tentacles to pop out but I didn't flinch or anything. That was a lost opportunity with almost no pop outs in The Marvels 3D. I'd have to watch it again but I don't remember any particles popping out.
How do you like your theater's 3D projection? Are they reliable? I avoid my Regal theater for 3D most times as the sides of almost every 3D projector/theater there have double images, miscalibrated. I talked to the manager about it directly and even emailed them, but they just gave me a free movie ticket and did nothing about it to fix it, now over 10 years later (it was the same issue for their exclusive showing of Dawn of the Dead 3D in 2022 I think). Thankfully my Cinemark delivers a great 3D presentation.

As for the movie itself, I thought it was a perfectly harmless good time. All three leads had time to shine together and solo. I liked Carol and Monica's tenuous reunion and I loved Kamala fangirling all over the place. The quantum switching made for some inventive action. There are two musical numbers, and the latter is one of the most gloriously bizarre sequences of the year. It was a fun ride I'd gladly go on again, and the epilogue and post-credits scene got me hyped for what's coming next. All in all, a very good Marvel movie, no more no less.
Really nice medium to strong layered 3D conversion, I agree. I'd have to compare them side by side, but Captain Marvel's 3D is strong much of the way and one of Marvel's best conversions in my view. Hopefully a Japan blu ray 3D of The Marvels to be able to compare at home with Captain Marvel's 3D.

Yes, that's cool the SPOILER

Gotta say Captain Marvel's 3D is way better than this film, there were still a considerable amount of shots with a lot of 3D potential in The Marvels that turned out to be kinda flat in the end, but I'd still say the 3D conversion in this film is most certainly a step in the right direction.

The only multiplex in my district, INOX, where I watched the film, has Volfoni 3D projection systems installed, and so far I've had no problems with all the 3D films I've watched there. Other local theatres in my area either have QUBE 3D or DepthQ 3D systems installed, and I've had no problems there as well. And since the 3D format is a huge deal in India, it's no surprise that their 3D systems are well maintained. I'd still love to watch a film in RealD 3D someday.

I was interested in getting to the Cineworld IMAX in London to watch this but sadly they don't have many 3D showings. Another one I'll hope to see on 3D blu at home. I just don't find watching these Marvel movies of much interest unless there's 3D. When there is it's fantastic and I get engrossed in the story. Otherwise it's meh

Just got home. Movie isn't perfect but it is fun!

I'd have to do some rewatching but I believe this is the strongest marvel 3D post endgame. The depth is great. Especially the space scenes. It's what I wanted out of GOTG3. Even the 3D in the end credits were good

A very spoiler-filled conversation, but
[Show spoiler]this film does exactly what Dr. Strange did, mutants/X-Men exist/introduced in another dimension/world. They could appear the same in "our" MCU world, but they could be different.

More interesting perhaps, Kamala Khan was already identified as a mutant in Ms. Marvel. The first identified mutant in the MCU Prime Universe, I believe.

Having now seen The Marvels several times in IMAX 3D, no reservations in saying it's a 9/10 for stereo in my book. It isn't often that a movie can successfully produce the illusion of being in a box flying around, but this one does it for me.

The shots where it's relatively weaker still show fairly good separation and depth, but when it really shines I was left awestruck. There are even shots that have a significant portion of the frame set slightly in negative parallax to allow for even more depth, but they don't do anything wacky to call attention to it like a pop-out, it just looks clean and feels natural and obvious. No doubt, it's not a perfect conversion - behind-the-scenes meddling by execs definitely hurt the film on every level, including the stereo process - but I just cannot bring myself to nitpick a 3D presentation this good.

Nia DaCosta mentioned in a promotional interview for IMAX that she was inspired by their NASA documentaries, and there are several shots where I could clearly see the influence. As far as I know there have been no mentions of Gravity from anyone involved in producing The Marvels, but those who have seen both will no doubt pick up on that as an influence too.

If you are on the fence, particularly if you have access to an IMAX 3D venue, do yourself a favour and go to a screening... this one will only be around for a short time in the cinema.

Interesting, thanks. I wonder if they'd
[Show spoiler]recast him as a CGI character in the main new films.

Thanks for the reply.
Captain Marvel is very nice for the strong 3D shots in much of the film for that conversion. I'd have to see if that had some pop outs as it's been awhile.

That's great to hear your 3D theaters care about the 3D presentation, which makes a huge difference in keeping a 3D audience happy in that way. My Regal theater couldn't care less about their 3D presentations sadly, but thankfully my Cinemark theaters counter it with great 3D since 2007's Beowulf in theaters way back then. It's worth theaters noting that a poor 3D presentation with bad alignment/calibration will turn away audiences from wanting to experience that again (along with studios offering mild 3D films). Thanks.

Yes, a really nicely done conversion with medium to strong 3D shots and worth watching in 3D. A blu ray 3D in 2024 would be great.

As everyone else has mentioned. The 3D was great in this. Worth the ticket alone. As for the movie, I had low expectations, but honestly I had fun with it!

I don't know why, but I liked it.
There's some nice fun in it that made my day positive. And Brie Larson is looking hot in it. Unlike in captain marvel.

This was one of my first times watching a movie in IMAX 3D with Laser (there's only one IMAX with laser in my country, the rest are xenon) and it looked awesome, contrast and colors were amazing, not the usual bleak gray Marvel movie. Also, I feel like the 1.90:1 scenes don't feel as expansive in a 1.43:1 screen because you don't see the picture reach the floor and the ceiling but it still was very cool. There where a couple moments were the blackness of space blended into the letterbox so it felt like it was actually 1.43:1 for a few moments, it was cool. I don't understand why the 3D glasses for Laser are smaller than the ones used for xenon if the screen is way bigger, feels like they limit the view a little, especially because I always use 3D glasses over my prescription glasses, but it works. Also the IMAX sound was amazing as always, too bad we never get good sound from Disney at home.

I watched Captain Marvel in 3D Bluray a few hours before watching The Marvels and definitely the 3D in Captain Marvel is top notch but The Marvels still looked very good, I wouldn't watch in 2D. I think I'll go again tomorrow (this time in IMAX xenon) because sadly it will be the last time we'll be able to watch it in 3D with expanded AR again.

Also the movie was fun, great action scenes, the switching gimmick works well, but the story is short and shallow. The main problem with actual Marvel is that you have to watch two 6-hour shows and 22 movies to get it, new generations will never be able to start watching the MCU at this rate.

The movie felt pretty... Disjointed and poorly paced, but had some pretty fantastic individual scenes. Seeing it in 3D is a MUST; the attention to detail shows throughout. For once, I wish an MCU movie were longer!

Yeah, I think they should have added 1-2 minutes to show the planet dying and recovering
