Love them all too. I avoided 5 forever until I got the undisputed collection and I kept wondering while watching, what exactly everyone hated about it. That being said, as much as I do like them all, I think my favorite is actually Rocky II. It's a bloody fantastic sequel keeping in touch with the first one with the characters first and the fight stuff second unlike III and IV and which would return with V and Balboa. Maybe it's nostalgia for me as it's actually the first one I saw when TNT would endlessly run those marathons during the weekend but it's a damn good follow up.

So does anyone know if this is a complete new boxset of as I’m suspecting just the same 1-4 discs repacked with V and Balboa?
I don’t know how they would have the bottle to completely repackage 1-4 and fix the errors with out explanation to those who shelled out for the previous boxset. I’d also like the atmos soundtrack on 4 that we got on Apple TV too. Strange they didn’t include that |

I mean, the soundtrack for IV has been reissued a number of times, was remastered, and is still in-print to this day. It's never been out of print, ever. The soundtrack for V never attained that level of success. You could find the CD in $1 cut-out bins within a year or two of its release. Hell, half of the tracks aren't even in the movie! Its music didn't transcend its era at all, whereas the soundtrack for IV has proven to have far more enduring appeal, "dated" or not. Vince DiCola's IV score is also hugely popular, and he's performed it live with different orchestras over the years as well -- recently too. Last edited by DMRI2006; 04-04-2024 at 09:30 PM. |

Oh I definitely agree and am not disputing that at all. But with the caveat that we aren’t taking about soundtrack ”albums”, only the music in the films proper, all I’m saying about it is that it’s inexplicable. One got (and stayed) popular, and the other didn’t…but the fact is that they are both as quintessentially representative of their own respective time periods as the other. We’ve just decided that that’s a good thing for one type of music and not another.

I would assume it is all movies crammed into one steelbook or the current steelbooks in one big case like we've seen for other collections, like Batman and the Monsterverse movies. BUT imagine if they were to do like the Superman set and give them all steelbooks featuring the original theatrical posters... |

FWIW, it took three emails, but I finally heard back from Warner on getting a replacement for the messed up discs. They were almost purposefully vague when responding, except to say that they would send me “replacement product”…I have no idea if they’ll send me the fixed original film with the proper mono track, fixed copies of all of them, or if they are totally not understanding me at all and just sending me copies of the original discs again, but I just got a FedEx notice that Warner has sent me a package. Delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, so I’ll report back here with whatever I get from them.

Rocky 4's soundtrack/score is pretty much my favorite of all time (basically always been a tie between that and The Terminator). To the point where I've actually made compilations both of remixes/covers of the training montage, and one that's all original music that sounds like it, or was clearly inspired by it (It also has songs that sound like 80's aerobics classes. I made them for workout motivation lol).
