Unless it's changed from the 605, no.

I have a Panasonic BD35k Blu Ray player and I have the Onkyo TX-SR606 Receiver. When I put in movies like Iron Man or the Dark Knight, all the displays on the receiver is Dolby or ProLogicIIx. I can't get it to DTS-HD or TrueHD.

On the Blu Ray player settings, everything is set to Bit Stream. My receiver is all on factory defaults (or should be. Follow up question... To reset to factory defaults, do I just hold the VCR/DVR button and then press the Power/Standby button?)

Any help? Thanks!

Is is possible to have two subs connected to this receiver? If so, how would you hook the 2nd one up?

Yup. Just use a one male to two female Y-splitter and split the signal out to the 2 subs. Since they have their own amps, there's no worries.

It's going for $299 (down from $599) @ Acess4Less but they are currently out of stock.

The Marantz SR5002 is also going for $299 (down from $799) and i'm wondering if i should get that instead.

Forgive me if this has been asked before, I may have missed it.

I just got a 606, and I have my PS3 connected thru HDMI. I thought I had read that direct was the best listening mode for this set-up for PCM, but when I test it with my Rambo blu-ray, the surround speakers are silent. What listening mode do you all recommend?

I didn't think you could pick a listening mode when your playing a bluray that has lossless audio. Correct me if i'm wrong anybody. Mine always just says multi channel pcm

I have a Samsung BD-P1500 blu-ray, connected via HDMI to a TX-SR606, and in the audio setup menu, it has three audio ouput options. If you chose Bitstream(Audiophile), and if a DVD soundtrack has TrueHD. TrueHD will be displayed on the TX-SR606.

If you press the Movie/TV button, you can scroll all the audio options.

I think I got it now. I was changing the listening mode by pressing the buttons on the remote, and I had direct on by cycling through the music button.

I went into the OSD and set the default for PCM as direct and now its showing up as multi-channel. So all is well.

To those with a 7.1 setup what setting do you use in terms of Listening Mode when watching a 5.1 program/movie/BD? Do you matrix it to 7.1 or leave it on Multi-Ch or whatever?

Thanks.

Well, I was going to buy a 606 next week, but it seems nobody has it in stock. Amazon says "ships within 1 to 2 months", and it's $450!

Guess I should have picked it up last month.
