It's very nice. It's a small hardback book full of excellent artwork. Excellent quality. I haven't even started playing the game yet though. I've never played a GOW game before so I got God of War: Collection off of Amazon and am playing the first two before I start on three.

I'm bumping an old and dormant thread here, but I just made a fairly significant update to the Movie Memorabilia & Gaming Collectibles folder in my HT Gallery. It was pretty overdue, and I've added a couple of collectors editions for the Xbox 360 recently as well. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I didn't think I would ever get ahold of the Halo: Reach Legendary Edition, but when I was picking up my copy of Dead Space 2 last Tuesday, I noticed it had dropped from $150 down to $80. I kept watching and it dropped on down to $60. So now I could buy the regular edition of the game for $60, OR I could buy the Legendary Edition for $60. Let me think........

Thanks MaCruz. It's been fun getting into the gaming collectibles. I'll keep adding to the collection as they release collectors editions I really like. There are a couple of older ones out there I may try to track down as well.

And thanks to everyone who left ratings and comments. They are much appreciated.

Too bad I don't play video games like I used to. The only game I play on the PS3 is Madden & Tetris.

Believe it or not. I have NEVER held an XBOX controller for more than 5 minutes. That's including the original system.

As for collectors edition. It's usually a popular movie I'd get to display.

Nice additions Steve, and nice to see your thread get the bump it deserves. As a collector of memorabilia myself, I can appreciate what they can add to your HT ambience. They look really cool. You may need to think of a curio or something to really make them stand out some day.

I guess now I'm starting to see what you and others love about steelbooks, but personally I prefer collectors editions of games over movies.

Thanks Fors. It's good to chat with you again. You have a good point about a curio and you're right. I'm about out of space as it is now. The bookcase I have everything in is already full. As I pick up more movies or even regular games I'll have to come up with something new to organize and display everything.

Keep this one in mind, as I may get this soon as I am running out of space myself. It is a great price IMO, and looks nice. I think it would work in your room very nicely.

Yeah Steve. I cooled off buying SteelBooks since I've been upgrading on HT gear like crazy. Glad it's about to end once I get the matching center.

When I do make the trip across town to visit you one day with LeAnn. Remind me to punch your arm for getting me into audio and equipment. If it wasn't for you. I would never experience Blu-ray "the real way".

Excuse me MaCruz while I.....

....didn't you know there is no end? There are simply "lulls" due to various reasons, but you will want something new soon enough, you'll see. It's too late now to turn back, welcome to the club......

John,

This is the 3rd time you said this to me. I promise! There's nothing else I need. I have new stuff, and adding more would just..... uhhh.. yeah.

I think I just went into a short phase where I wanted new, and up to par stuff.

Hi Steve,

Just had a look at your gallery again (I already voted some time ago), and I'm impressed. You have a lovely home and your setup is wonderful.

I'm not a collectibles fan, but appreciate the passion that those who do have for it. Congrats on your growing collection!

My subtle attempts to warn you seem to not be working, so possibly more aggressive techniques are in order?

However, I wish you the best in staying put if you find the will....I guess i just haven't seen it yet.

I will and thanks for the suggestion. However, my wife used to work for a local furniture store, where she can still get employee pricing (family owned business) so that's most likely where we will be buying something from.

Not a problem. Glad I could help you find an outlet for all your extra income.

I think you're right. There's no turning back and I don't think any of us will remain satisfied forever. As for now I'm totally happy with my system, but I have a couple of different interests, and for the last few months I've been focused on another hobby and spending money there. I'll say it's shooting/firearms related and leave it at that (since this topic is frowned upon on this site). If anyone wants to know anything more specific about it feel free to PM me. Sooner or later I'll swing back around to my HT and decide there's something that needs to be upgraded.

Thanks, particularly for the statement in bold. As for my collection, it's not much now, but we all start somewhere, right? Anyway I'm having fun with it so I guess that's what really matters.

Thanks to everyone for posting.

This thread hasn't seen any activity in a while. Unfortunately it's not good now. I started having some trouble with my TV. It's a Samsung and I know people are going to say I should replace it, but that's not a possibility right now. Thankfully I got the 4 year BB warranty on it when I bought it. It powers up and defaults to a blue screen until it's up and running and receiving a signal through the AV receiver. I started noticing some black areas in the blue screen. Usually they clear up after a few seconds with no lingering effects. However, once in a while they don't go away completely and I have to turn the TV off and back on. Once I even had to do that twice. My wife managed to get a picture of it.

You can see the black area on the right side of the screen. Since this picture was taken it's gotten a good bit worse. By that I mean this black area has spread to a lot more of the screen. I would say I've seen it probably 8 or 10 times this bad at its worst. Still, it usually clears up within just a few seconds of turning on the TV, but not always. I made a warranty claim and submitted this picture. They've ordered some kind of new part for the TV and are supposed to call and schedule an appoint to come out when that part comes in. The lady told me the part is shipped freight so I'm wondering if it's an entire new panel. I guess I'll find out soon enough. I will keep this updated as this progresses.

Interesting update. The warranty company called my wife and informed her that the reason it's been taking so long to have my TV repaired is because they had to order several panels. EVERY SINGLE ONE came in defective. Now they have given us a voucher to go to BB and get a new TV.

For the latest in this drama see my thread here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/plasma-tvs...some-help.html

I have a buddy who works at BB and I'm going to talk to him and see what he has to say about the situation and if he thinks there's anything I can do to sway things in my favor.

A decision has been made and Thursday my Sammy plasma will be retired and replaced with a 55" Panny ST30. Updated pics will follow within a few days.

Congrats! I've been following your tale of woe I'm glad that it seems to be working out for you You're really going to appreciate the 55" vs. the 50"

I think you're right. I really don't want to spend the additional $300, but I really want to go bigger than the 50". I'd love a 60", but it's 100% cost prohibitive at this point and I'm not sure the space I have for a TV could accommodate a 60" model. Anyway I'm anxious to get it home and set up. I need to Netflix one of the HD calibration discs to get it set up with.
