Incredible. Utterly amazed by this. As a history buff, I was amazed with what they were able to bring to this event. I felt every moment of tension. Historical inaccuracies aside (and there were few!), this was a great retelling of what actually happened. I even got a little emotional at the end

The ending was carried out brilliantly as well. I was in suspense throughout the entire movie. The cast, I mean, apart from the whole speaking in regular English/British accents, performed well. Quite the ensemble cast! I recognized almost every single face from elsewhere! Even the oft-maligned Tom Cruise served his role well.

Picture quality, I have no idea how it was rated only a 3.5 by our reviewer! It is shocking. Blacks are deep. Detail is powerful and jumps at you. The production values in re-creating 1940s Berlin are all easily embraced - this merits at least a 4, 4.5 in that.

Sound quality, as well, is incredible. The LFE track is more than present in creating moments of suspense, as well as each thrum of the Junkers Ju-52's engines and each 20mm FlaK cannon blast. Surrounds are used to create a busy ambience in the office scenarios - I can't say anything bad about the soundtrack either.

After finishing my Netflix copy, my next move is to purchase this film.

I thought it was a good movie....Cruise aside. Entertaining and the story itself was interesting. As far as the blu goes....the doc on the disc is great. 2 hours long itself. VEry informative

I like history and am a WW2 movie junkie...but I don't like Cruise very much.

The reviews aren't even funny, looking at the review on his page for 'Taken' the comment about Natasha Richardson was not needed at all. That was just a really messed up thing to say.

This was a excellent movie I thought Tom Cruise was good as well. Whatever your personal feeling are about the man he makes great movies and I'm never disappointed in them expect for Lions For lams but look at is resume every movie he is in is great.

Picked this up at Walmart today (had to buy cat litter lol). And while I planned to pick this up when it got in the teens. Walmarts price of $24 kept dragging me back to the bluray section. So I finally just said forget it and just bought it.

Gonna watch it shortly (havent seen it) hope its as good as I hear.

Great film. I may eventually purchase it. Cruise was good imho, and I like the way he transitioned from speaking German to English near the beginning of the film.

I actually dont think to highly of Cruise or what I preceive of Cruise (because really none of us know anything about the guy). But no way would I bypass a movie like this just because I dont like one of the actors.

Watched this tonight and enjoyed this quite a bit. Loved the accuracy. Thought the actors all did a great job and was put together real nice. The extras are not lacking (well no deleted scenes), loved the hour and half doc on the subject especially. Glad I picked this up.

Did watch this last night. Must say I am impressed with the sets, and details in the movie. But the acting...... specily from the man who plays A.Hitler is the worst I have seen hmmm he does not look like Hitler at all. (it looks fake).

Tom Cruise won't win anything for acting is this film either.

Anyone else pick this up on Blu-Ray recently? I thought it was really well done - and it looks great in Blu-Ray! It had more action than I was anticipating, and a pretty interesting story that I think everyone should know about.

I thought the actor that played Adolf Hitler was really good in the role, he had the manerisims, especially the sudden burts of anger down pretty good.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say he didn't look like Hitler at all...I mean theres pretty much a checklist on how to look like Hitler and i think he had them all crossed off

He was perfect for the role. Cruise usually does his homework or extra work I should say in going beyond the minimum required by the script. He strives to become the character whom he portrays. In the Last Samurai, he did just that in portraying Capt. Nathan Algren. He does it again, this time as Col. von Stauffenberg, in Valkyrie. His filmography is testament to his success as a talented actor.

Agreed, the man is a very talented actor..his religious beliefs may not be for me, but i still love watching him act... especially in roles like Stauffenberg, where he gets to sink into the character (as well as In Tropic Thunder where he was hillarious)

It really is a shame that some can't seperate the man from the actor, i've heard dozens of people claim they won't see Valkyrie because Cruise is the star, and thats terrible because they really are missing out on a great movie
