is there a standard yet? I have read at one time that Sony is going with polarized and samsung is going with shattered lens. The biggest throwback for me is buying a new HDTV.

I saw the Panasonic and the Samsung, both had active shutter technology for the glasses.

Since the technology is now available to view publicly, it would be nice if more people could save their anti-3D posts until they have actually seen it. But we all know thats just wishful thinking.
I think you missunderstand a lot of the post. Most people are not anti-3D as you love to put it with your eyes roll. Sure some are, most are like me, they simply not interested in having it in their home or for their TV watching. I have no problem with people drooling over their 3D setup for their HT if it make's them happy. As long as their not asking me to pay for it. Me, like many others are just not interested in having it at home big difference then being anti-3D.

I'm probably more on the anti-3D side but mine is for medical reasons. I am prone to migraines (actually diagnosed as getting Chronic Migraines ) and I have been to two IMAX 3-D movies with my kids. Each time I had a migraine either by the time it was finished or within an hour or so after the showing ended.

I also feel it is just a marketing ploy to get people to upgrade their equipment because they ROI on upgrading is slowly getting smaller and smaller. We already saw the last big "upgrade" when blu-ray came onto market and he needed the new codecs and better HDMI specs. Now that we almost have HD codec as a standard as well as HDMI 1.3, these companies need something else. 3-D and HDMI 1.4 is what they decided to go with. Granted, I don't know what other options they had, but this is my personal opinion.

Thanks for listening.
