Happily ordered. Thanks for putting this out.

No idea what these are, but hey, I'm curious and not often "disappointed" by movies released by TWF.

Pre-ordered.

Yeah, I can't remember what it was when I placed my order (almost 30 quid IIRC) but I've just been into my account and it has dropped to 19.99.

Bargain!

I tweeted HMV and asked when A Scene at the Sea preorders will go up and they said very soon and they will tweet me back when they are.

I've got Hana-Bi, Dolls and Kikujiro all there and they all arrived early and in mint condition. Hopefully that trend will continue!

Wonder if it'll be £10.99 again too? Fingers crossed, and same for Kids Return. Happy to switch my pre-order to HMV if that's the case - faster postage and better packaging, plus excellent customer service (from what I've experienced so far).

Reckon I'll get a better chance of not getting a damaged slipcover as well, as I did for Hana-bi and Kikujiro (but Dolls was fine).

Yeah but Amazon are just matching HMV's price. I did get them from Amazon before but as mine turned up in an unsatisfactory condition I'm gonna go with HMV this time! Assuming they're around the same price of course...

I've now burnt through the student discount they offer so no extra saving at amazon anymore, but all 3 of mine came through fine. If HMV are cheaper I'll happily move, but I always leave the amazon order open until the last minute because of their random price drops, Uzumasa Limelight and Love and Peace both ended up being £8.85, which is a crazy price for a new release.

Probably right at release, as time goes by they slowly increase.

Actually it usually depends on pre-orders. If a title gets lots of pre-orders and looks to be a big seller then Amazon drops the price sharply to get more orders as they take more stock. That's why the toshiaki toyoda collection is so cheap right now and why hana-bi was so cheap. Scene at the sea and kids return have poor pre-orders so price hasn't dropped

Such a shame when bloated tripe like Batman v Superman can top the charts when wonderful little films like Scene at the Sea get largely ignored.

It's sad that most people will never watch films like these in their lives.

Unfair indeed.

But I'm very glad that 3rd Window keeps supplying us with quality editions of marvelous films (sans sh*te covers no less! ).

Yes, was by release day. I've pre-ordered every TWF BD release this year, the films I've known have been must haves, and the ones I haven't are yet to disappoint.

The new Sion Sono movie "ANTI-PORN" is having its international debut at L'Étrange Festival in France – apparently it's a satire of the pink film industry.

So that sounds relatively marketable... The feature documentary "The Sion Sono" directed by Arata Oshima (Nagisa Oshima's son) is also playing. I remember thirdwindow saying on facebook they'd consider that for an extra on a future Sion Sono release if the license was cheap enough...

So Anti-Porno + The Sion Sono a potential future thirdwindow release?

The Sion Sono is actually a companion piece to WHISPERING STAR so wouldn't work as well with any other title, even though it would be good to have as a dvd extra, though unfortunately would be expensive to license to be used just as such. Anti-porno will be expensive too I'd imagine, though if it were a few years ago I'd pick it up, but sales on Love & Peace (which is one of Sono's best and critically very well received) are not good so it would be hard. It's not out of the question at all, but it depends on how much NIkkatsu want for it (probably either a lot or want to sell the whole 5 film package)
