No. That is just an assumption based on WB owning the rights to the theatrical cut. Even if they do it could be a year or years before that even happens. Don't see how people automatically think WB's release will be on par or superior to Shout's upcoming release though considering they don't exactly have a stellar record when it comes to catalog releases...especially ones they don't even consider high priority releases to boot.

Ya, and they have so many titles in their catalog that they could pick to release, it may be a stretch for them to pick the one title that just had 5,000 copies flood the market. I personally don't see Warner jumping on releasing their version anytime soon. But I'm sure others may feel that Warner will see how big a seller it was and will want to rush out their own to capitalize on such a hot property. We shall see.

I pre-ordered both Demons films in May of 2013 and didn't receive them until November of 2013 from Synapse. Both were amazing and worth the price and wait. I have no doubt this will be the same. This has nothing to do with the gaming industry and the ridiculous path they've taken. In all likelihood, Warner Bros likely only allowed them to use/release the theatrical cut before a certain date, so shout wanted to be certain they had sold every copy they could before then, completely unaware of how quick this would sell.

Would probably just be a bare bones release unless WB had a deal with Shout to port over the extras that they had put together themselves.

I believe this is speculation as well, which, for those who take information w/ a grain of salt, means absolutely nothing.

From a money-making standpoint, it would be wise of WB to do so since they would reap the profits from fans who missed out on the limited edition release, but still want the theatrical cut (different ending) on Blu-ray. Patience is a virtue, but banking on WB to release the theatrical cut currently has nothing to do w/ patience--it's a leap of faith.

This is only valid if there was in fact a stipulation regarding release dates. At this point, only Shout! Factory and WB know what went down. It's unorthodox for companies to be fully transparent, releasing detailed information regarding licensing agreements to consumers.

It might be smart to keep those emotions in check.... There is plenty of skeptism by more than a few members that Best Buy will be able to deliver on all of its orders. Amazon took its page down when the supply was gone, and shout is obviously a sure thing... But there are more then a few people that think Best Buy has over sold on this, so until you have it in hand, I'd temper expectations.

I bet more than 5,000 orders at Best Buy will be canceled.

****ing stupid that there was only 5,000 of the 3-Disc Edition. I want both cuts. This shouldn't be so limited.

Direct your hate to Warner Bros then. They're the ones that limited the Theatrical cut to 5000 units.

I'm sure this is probably an unlikely scenario, given that they probably understood quite well from the outset the exorbitant costs likely inherent in this restoration - but pehaps they felt the need to secure some extra funds in order to complete the included extras, and give this edition as much of the proper polish that fans are expecting? I'm sure it wasn't easy coming up with a near exact estimate on a project of this magnitude. Despite their respectable level of product exposure and market diffusion, and the consistently high quality of their products in my opinion, they are arguably, still a comparatively small company. Not really sure exactly when the preorder date had been finalized myself.

Be thankful you have access to it at all... those of us outside of the US (who have been with Occupy Midian since the early days) not only have to deal with region coding, but also shipping restrictions that prevent us from being able to officially order it anywhere.

What are you talking about? It was available on Amazon which ships worldwide and if you were part of the Occupy Midian group then you would have known about the limited set since it was announced.

For future reference, diabolikdvd.com ships worldwide as well. This set was available there for a brief time for a bit more than Amazon. Unfortunately slight server issues prior to an upgrade, necessitated them to pull this set a few times, which arguably made timing a purchase from them somewhat more difficult for this item.

Well best buy already charged me and I hope I was one of the lucky ones who will get one of the 5000 otherwise I'll be very upset. But I'll cross my fingers.

Still some places to get it. It's not a lock due to possible overordering but it doesn't hurt to try.

I used my Best Buy credit card to pre-order Nightbreed within a few hours of it going live on their site. Hopefully that secured my copy.
