Over the past year, I've bought some superb editions of horror films, and I've started lining them up for this season's splurge:

It's worth noting that I modded the New Extremity box set to include the UHD for High Tension from Second Sight. Will have to do it again for Martyrs when I get it in hand. Haven't seen either one in years. I am eager to rewatch The Stuff, The Deadly Spawn, The Beyond, and King of the Ants again. I wasn't sure if I liked The Keep and Pulse when I last saw them, so I want to evaluate them more critically this time. Opera, Witchfinder General, Blood on Satan's Claw, Angst, Saw X, and Street Trash '25 are blind buys, because I might have gone insane after pledging my soul to the home video gods.

As darkness falls quicker each night, and the cool twilight heralds the coming of autumn, I can't contain my excitement for long. In another week or two, I may have to begin the indulgence. Let the movie-watching rituals begin!

I have 5 of those (6 if you count both discs from the Pet Semetary set) in my pile of new discs to watch in September and October as well!

My neighbor’s dragging a large stuffed burlap sack out behind his house in the middle of the night, not sure what’s going on there

It's very hard for me to get excited about Fall when it's still 90+ degrees. Sadly, we don't usually get Fall weather around here until the second week of October.

Horror movies are definitely better when there's a Fall chill in the air.

I'm still preparing my list ready for October 1st but feel it's a little lacking at the moment.

I might watch a long standing franchise this year like Halloween or Friday the 13th, as I've only seen the first movie and some of the later more modern ones.
