Probably depends on what title you are looking for. There are some $9.98 and $11.98 titles on there. World of Giants DVD set (not blu) for $11.98 etc.

It very clearly states there's a sale at the top of the site:

https://www1.screenarchives.com/disp...4/CLASSICFLIX/

And there are some great deals in there too. For instance, The Long Wait 4K is just $17.98, and I, The Jury 4K/3D/BD combo s just $19.98, the lowest prices for both. There are several other prices that are lower than CF's own sales.

Too bad SAE’s shipping is more than the flat $3.99 shipping on CF, but for those outside the US, the sale is good news.

I start to doubt myself sometimes (my only fault was I didn't state clearly that the sale is on Screen Archives' website (despite saying the post about the Classicflix sale was on SAE's Facebook page).

There are three titles I want to get in the sale, and like with other boutique labels I try to support them directly as best as possible (but in Classicflix's case, as they don't ship internationally I purchase their titles from Deep Discount and Screen Archives).

Well spotted about the Blu-ray set of World of Giants not being listed in the sale. Maybe it will be added later?

The BD for WOG is OOP and SAE doesn't have any in stock, nor will they.

We have less than 40 in stock and they will not be going on sale. Once they're gone, they're gone and they won't be re-pressed.

Check out this clip we just posted from our restoration of FIRE FIGHTERS (1922), the 2nd silent short produced in the Our Gang film series. Our restoration is sourced from a 2K scan of a 16mm print as 35mm on the short is nonextant.

Roach would re-visit the firemen theme in THE FOURTH ALARM (1926) and HOOK AND LADDER (1932).

Scans on over 60 silent Our Gang shorts (of the surviving 88) have been performed to date and we continue to look for better material for at least half of the 60, plus additional material to fill in gaps of missing footage from the scans we already have.

The project has taken a lot longer than anticipated, but we expect our next release announcement to be for Volume 1 of the Our Gang silents. Included in the set will be:

PROD#, SHORT

# 1. Our Gang - (In most complete form)
# 2. Fire Fighters
# 3. Young Sherlocks (from 16mm Kodascope)
# 4. One Terrible Day
# 6. Saturday Morning
# 7. The Big Show! (from 35mm)
# 8. The Cobbler (from 35mm)
# 9. The Champeen! (from 16mm Kodascope)

ENJOY!

I see Reel Vault Inc are releasing The Proud Rebel in August.

Will this impact ClassicFlix's planned release?

No, this will not. We're expecting to release it early next year. It will have a commentary by Alan Rode and a newly recorded interview with David Ladd, and of course, a top-notch restoration.

What happened to the first volume of "Angel"? Is it still coming out this year?

Between all the expensive and time-consuming feature film restorations of late, and the OUR GANG SILENTS which are taking between 80-100 hours each to restore (for a 16-20 min. short), we've had to push back everything, including ANGEL.

We hope to announce VOLUME 1 of the OG SILENTS in the next few weeks for a late Nov/early Dec release, with an announcement for ANGEL, VOLUME 1 soon after...

100 hours to restore one 20 minute short? No wonder it takes so long to release these. Congrats on all the hard work!

Thanks for the update! So most-likely sometime in 2025 for the first volume of Angel then, right? I'm very much looking forward to that.

Yes, it's because the early silent elements run the gamut from horrible to abysmal, much like the early Roach sound OG shorts we restored for Volume 1—which were in worse shape, cost the most and took the longest to restore of all 6 volumes.

Future volumes will take less time to complete (6-9 months we're hoping) and cost less as film elements are in (a little) better shape and most are from 35 and sharper.
