Want to say thanks for bringing this up earlier. I've only had the sequels on a couple of LD rips and wanted something physical, so I managed to locate it from a Danish retailer who had one remaining set in stock.

I only wish it was BD or higher but at least this will tide me over, for now.

Beastmaster 2 is kino just to see Kari before she got her horrendous fake chest. III seemed like a bad pro wrestling promo they ran cameras on. I would for sure buy both in a set if I had to.

I've been hoping for a decent remaster of Beastmaster 2 for ages. IMO, it's somehow both a ripoff of the Masters of the Universe movie and also a better version of it.

Total speculation here, but since Republic had the original US home video rights, would that mean Paramount holds them now?

Man it seems like BM2 hasn't had a U.S. release since VHS and LD! And it didn't even get a DVD anywhere in the world until 2022 in Australia BM1-3 DVD set!
Not even streaming or digital download on any platform.

I thought SPECIES 2 was awful, but in an awfully entertaining way. It's one of those movies that are so incompetent, it elevates itself to a whole different plane of entertainment. It's no AMERICAN NINJA 2, but I quite liked it myself.
SPECIES 3... I barely remembered it. I like some of the practical FX though.
I don't remember SPECIES: THE AWAKENING hardly at all.

Not sure I'd put it in the Miami Connection camp of "so awful it's good," it's competently shot and acted I believe. What makes it extremely enjoyable is how batshit insane it is.

I'm making my way through True Indie right now, and I have a greater appreciation for just how difficult this film was to finish for Coscarelli.

Marc Singer sounds like he was an absolute nightmare during the shoot.....at least one point, even assaulting Coscarelli and another higher-up.

I don't know if it was 'roid rage, ingrained actor entitlement, personal issues....or a combination of the above and more, but it was really crazy to read about Marc's attitude at that time.

And, like Coscarelli opines in the book, Singer was still the best choice to play Dar.
