True, but I don't think they want to play these characters for the rest of their lives. Neve and Courteney have been trying to bail the franchise since part 3. David Arquette might be the only one who gets excited every time a new film comes along.

Neve and Courtney had a potential for a career at the time the third one came out. Now not so much.

I wouldn't say it's a safe assumption, but I think it'll be more likely that they'll get released if the UHD sells well (AND if the new movie does well in theaters, too).

That doesn't worry me. The average movie-goer isn't going to make a special trip out to the theater to see a 25-year-old film that they either already have on disc, or can stream easily.

I'm admittedly a LITTLE more worried based on Scream 4's performance (I remember hearing everyone saying they had plans for a new trilogy, which obviously didn't come to pass after 4 under-performed), but I personally feel like there's been more hype for this one compared to 4 (and I think this year being the 25th anniversary of the original has helped), so maybe it'll do well, word of mouth permitting.

It’s not like Neve has been sitting around twiddling her thumbs…she’s been pretty active. I dont think she needs this franchise but it certainly doesn’t hurt her wallet either.

Just came back from a screening. Honestly, I can't comment on the PQ as the auditorium wasn't the greatest (I hate 1.85:1 screens that they just letterbox to 2.39:1, drives me crazy). It looked miles better than the existing BD even under these conditions, but that wouldn't have taken much. I'll have to reserve final judgment until I get the UHD. I will say that the audio mix still cuts off the second delivery of Randy's "big no-no, big no-no!" These two lines were intact on the old LD audio, and the line has been cut off mid-sentence on every DVD and BD since (Randy says "big no-no, bi--" and the camera changes to the group of kids and the line is cut off. So it's still that way - at least it was in the theater tonight.

Also went tonight and saw this, my theatre did the same thing. Ratio looked rather distorted, but the film itself looked very nice. A very obvious upgrade from any current home media, 4K excluded.

I wonder if the 4K will be delayed like the Blu-ray? I've noticed that Paramount is getting their discs from Germany now, and I wonder if that has anything to do with the delays?

Nope. It's cut off in all of the 5.1 mixes. I just got a copy of the original stereo surround mix, and the line is intact there just as I remember it. I can throw a comparison up on YouTube if you'd like.

No clue why. And sure, if they'd re-release the original audio, it would be there. Trouble is, too, that the stereo mix I have is for the director's cut, so it won't be a simple sync job to attach it to the UHD. I'll definitely work on it, though.
