Fun City Editions will, following an upcoming release in March, be distributed exclusively by MVD. Certain previously released titles will continue to be exclusively distributed by OCN.

I need to re-familiarize myself with MVD sales. Anyone know if they have regular ones at certain times of year? The thing I will miss most about the VinSyn partnership is knowing when I could get titles on sale...

MVD’s sales tend to be label-specific and launched without much notification. They’re most commonly at Black Friday but also in other seasons sometimes. The deepest cuts are during sales on their own boutique lines but they often highlight other labels like Arrow.

Yeah... a few days before he tells Ryan from Disconnected in no uncertain terms (see my above post w/link) that he will be staying with OCN and using MVD as just another outlet for distribution.

Well guys... This is why folks get wary and social media rumors get swirling... lack of concise PR... I mean I'm glad we know now... but it would have been nice if during the podcast he would have just said as much... or if he couldn't contractually say anything at that point... just say "there's more to be revealed on that subject... I can't say anything just yet." Don't just flat out give mis-information.

I mean... I'm not mad. I'm gonna follow this label wherever it finds its home... and frankly if FCE ends up offering some sort of subscription... I'd be inclined to jump right on it (budget permitting)... more so than VS or TerrorVision... because I've loved almost everything FCE has put out (not withstanding The Coca-Cola Kid)...

But a little more clarity and less cagey info going forward would certainly be welcome... and it certainly would make the online rumor mill a little less crazy.

Don't know what else to tell you, though. Everything I said in those interviews is factual. We do have an upcoming title at OCN and we will have titles remain available and distributed through OCN, that will not be distributed through MVD.

We're never going to be able to tell you guys everything about everything when you want to know it, but we do our best to communicate what can be communicated when it can be communicated.

You don't have tell me anything else. I appreciate your position... I know there are things you can and can't say. It's a delicate balance. I get it.

I'm not trying to be a hater or a complainer. I just felt like I needed to speak for the folks who have been confused and/or alarmed by this transition. It's all good. I think I can speak for everyone on this thread that we are (because all of us wouldn't be here if we weren't) big fans of your label and are super happy for this opportunity you've been given to expand. We're here for the long haul.

I'm all for looking forward and I've said what I felt needed to be said and I'm excited for what the future holds for your label!

Primetime Panic 2 being the last OCN release through them is pretty epic... I so enjoyed the first volume and I anxiously await the next one!

And of course Party Girl... super excited about that one. I've already got that pre-ordered through OrbitDVD.

I think a lot of the 'panic' was simply that people were happy that they could get your releases through VS and get a discount on them and add it to their subscription or other order for free shipping. When the vagueness started to creep in..people panicked some and commented and saw that the options to save a few bucks may have been taken away. IMO...I think that was the overwhelming bulk of it. The bottom line is that you guys are still around and putting out great releases...which everyone can agree on is great.

The subscriber discount thing is definitely no joke... that's a good point. I'm not a VS subscriber myself, so I'm not affected personally... but I definitely have seen some Facebook ink in the groups I'm a part of regarding this.

One of the benefits, however, to the MVD move that was covered in the Disc-Connected podcast was FCE gaining the ability to announce titles in whatever ways they want to... utilizing outside outlets to "more traditionally" announce titles (one specific outlet was discussed, but I won't mention it here because I don't want this post pulled down due to advertising other physical media websites). As it stands with OCN, FCE titles have to stay unannounced until the first of the month - and when they are - they are announced along with an ever-expanding number of PLs... which as that list grows... the announcements of said titles becomes more and more muddled by the white noise of what is now 23+ PL titles being announced. With MVD, as soon as they are ready to announce... they can do it like other labels do... through this website... or others.

That's definitely an advantage to this new avenue.

I started the US collection and not sure they're the same regarding artworks + slipcovers but yes i may grab their releases here.

So far ONLY The Walking Edge has the same slipcover as the original US release. Not sure about the non-slip artwork though.

Cutter's Way slip is the same too, but it has the BBFC 15 on the bottom right corner.

On Married to the Mob and Cutter's Way, non-slip artwork is also the same as the US counterpart. They are in the wider UK cases though (the same ones used by as Powerhouse/Indicator; both are distributed from Limewood Media).

Can also confirm that the discs are locked to Region B if you don't have a Region Free player.
