We watched MALEFICENT, MISTRESS OF EVIL 3D (the sequel) and I thought the 3D was excellent.

There's pop-outs for the people who enjoy that such as projectiles flying into your lap, and vertigo scenes looking over the castle's walls, including one ripped right out of DIE HARD. There is also a lot of depth in the Tomb Bloom flower beds and the mountainous flying scenes.

However, the plot was rather simple and predictable. I was hoping it would be at least as interesting as MALEFICENT, but it was not.

It also had a few too many cutesy creatures for my liking.

We also finally got around to seeing KONG, SKULL ISLAND. That was a fun movie with a lot of stars in them. The 3D was excellent but was a departure from KING KONG. I guess it would have to be, in hindsight.

There were a few moments where it would jump out at you and make everyone in the room squeal. The movie is heavy on action, but light on plot. It's basically the first half of KING KONG extended out as a slam-bam action movie a la PREDATOR or ALIENS.

I thought the 3D was excellent. Whenever you have a jungle setting with lots of layers, it always lends well to 3D. Cameron knew this well which is why I think AVATAR worked so well.

However, this movie is less about looking at the environment with wonder and awe and more about running your ass off so you don't get eaten or squashed!

Finished watching this. Enjoyed it very much. It is kind of an off-beat film; a little weird around the edges, which was ok with me. The 3D is mostly depth, but the depth is quite good in places. I am not sure that I recall any pop-outs, although there may have been some and I simply am not recalling them. Worth watching, in my opinion.

It’s my one year anniversary. A year ago I had 1 3D movie, now I have 193. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped me understand regions, pick movies and figure out how and where to buy. I couldn’t have done it without all your help. Also how to post in the right thread ( although this one is probably wrong ).

Glad someone is still jumping onboard and getting to enjoy the backlog of all the 3D blu-ray releases from the past which goes to show you that 3D is still enjoyable for some.

What part of Oklahoma are you at Okie? I grew up in Lawton, OK...

I watched half of Priest last night and 3D was pretty enjoyable with some pop outs here and there but it was all over the place.. some being mild.. some medium... and some strong. Wish it was strong the whole movie. Animation in the beginning was pretty awesome.

I have it and also enjoyed it. The nice thing about Priest in 3D is that it can often be found at a nicely discounted price.

Only reason I watched it was because I received it yesterday from Amazon... it was $9.99.... I'm sure I could have gotten for cheaper but Amazon is more convenient. I watched this when it first came out on blu-ray... I think I still have the 2D version somewhere. Not sure why I didn't get the 3D version.

I know why... this came out in 2011 and I got my first TV that can do 3D in 2012. LOL.... didn't realize this movie was almost 10 years old.

I took a chance on it for the same reason. I love Sci-Fi so I figured how bad could it be? Was happy with it.

Watched Wrath of the Titans. Movie was OK, full screen 3D was great.

I believe this is one of the worst 3D conversions ever done. I haven't watched it myself yet but that is what I have heard. Glad you enjoy the 3D..... maybe because you watched it on the big screen it wasn't as bad? I might take it for a spin tonight.

I was pretty sure that was what you'd meant (the full screen thing being a likely giveaway): If you had meant Clash, I would have done some research on Oklahoma's best opticians, and maybe even have chipped in for a new pair of glasses... But anyway, yes, Wrath did a good job of atoning for the first film's 3D sins.

Yes, purchased from Amazon for $625 last summer. I was astonished what you could get for that price and $200 for screen, extremely happy, both for 3D and 2D. Big screen makes all the difference.
