I'm kind of the opposite. I'd love to have friends in person who like movies and anime and video games. The entire world is Marvel crazed but not anyone in my friend group.

You do a helluva lot for your family. You deserve something back when it's needed.

I'm not 100%, but it seems my wife/ex and I have drifted apart. Maybe she has stuff on her mind, I dunno. I'll ride it our for a bit but once the writing is on the wall, one of us is gonna have to end it so that we can each move on.

Oh my post may have been misleading, she's supportive- actually she told me to go, but I just can't help but worry about how she's going to juggle working 12+ hr shifts and take care of my daughter especially since she doesn't have much experience with kids.

An upsetting headline in one of the UK newspapers (Daily Mail) read,

"Man wipes tears off bull before killing it"

It didn't say man though, it said the official name of a bull fighter. I could google it but I really don't want to look into it.

It's totally done my head in!

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it's just a rough patch. I think it's really hard to move on from long term relationships... if you've both invested a lot of time. How is she your wife/ex? Were you divorced and then remarried?

Ugh. That's heart breaking. I don't want to read it either, that headline is sad enough. I wish they'd end bull fighting.

Yes. Awful isn't it. I didn't actually read the article, just reading the headline upset me enough and been on my mind (pun not intended) all day.

I'm a real animal lover and hate what goes on towards animals in this world.

I saw a strange sight on my way home today. There was a (4-door) car with a push mower strapped on the trunk. I guess the owner didn’t know of anyone with a pick up truck to haul it for them.

This is why I will never, ever get rid of my truck. It has too many uses. The only drawback is the gas mileage and maneuverability.

I think bull fighting is one of the sickest things that a man can do to an animal.

"In the clown world I see—you're stalking journalists through the decrepit alleyways surrounding the ruins of Palo Alto, CA. You'll wear rainbow-afro wigs that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick long balloons that wrap the Trump Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny journos in a circlejerk, furiously wanking in an empty parking lot of some abandoned Bay Area startup." —Honkler Durden

On my mind is this purchase this week was the best AUD$430 I spent in a long time!

Got a replacement pair of Shure 840 studio monitor headphones (old ones were frankensteined because of broken headband years ago...) and on top of that got a pair of Beyerdynamic open back 990 Pro 250 ohm headphones.

Paired with my recent FiiO E10K USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier purchase... I'm currently in aural heaven. Listening to some john williams "topic" tracks on YT. The Beyerdynamics are on and I'll 'break in' these with 8 hours of varying music each on the next few days while I'm sleeping. Dunno if I believe in break-in... for the record.

The Beyerdynamics have to be driven to volume 5 knob on my E10K to match volume 2 with the Shure cans! Glad I went with the 250 ohm variety.

Gotta love those flesh colored pants women are now wearing. I always do a double take whenever I see one, then I frown when I realize it's just a pair of pants and not some chick walking around half naked

Haha.....your post suddenly reminded me of that 1981 movie, So Fine starring that idiot Ryan O'Neil where his character accidentally creates the butt peak jeans.

Is ad-free satellite radio for residential use still a thing? Looking for an alternative to internet music services/youtube. I never took the concept seriously and always thought satellite radio was intended more for commercial applications. What are the available options?

it's still a thing. i have satellite radio capabilities in my truck (no subscription, though) and there are plenty of music stations (i got a free 6-month subscription when i first bought the truck). my avr also has siriusxm capabilities.

I hate spending my lunch hour in the break room. I need to start sitting in the car but I want the work wi-fi. What to do...

I also have it in my truck. My subscription includes streaming, so I stream to my avr at home.
Just about every music genre you can think of is available.

i eat my lunch in the break room, then i go out to my truck and take a nap. i can eat my lunch in about 15 minutes, so that gives me a good 40 minutes of sleepy time. i just roll the windows down, lay the seat back as far as it'll go, and i'm out. i set my clock to wake me up about 3 minutes before i have to clock back in.
