You could... Party Girl is up for pre-order there... but with FCE's releases having those nice VS style slipcovers... Amazon may not be a great choice due to their sub-standard bubble mailer shipping techniques. You may end up with a mangled release.

Plus... buying from a boutique supports local small business... despite it being a few bucks more to go that route...

But then again... it may not be more... sometimes Amazon is as expensive as the boutiques.

Just my 2 cents...

I would 100% prefer to support the boutiques... but they may or may not ship to Europe, and even if, shipping costs often turn out to be much higher.

With Amazon.com, I at least know where I'm at and there's no hassle in case anything happens to the shipment.
And OCN had fantastic flat-rate 3-day FedEx shipping without customs hassles. Very difficult to replace that! (In addition to the fact that I'm a subscriber this year.)

That's what makes me nervous. I love MVD but their slipcovers tend to look beat to hell right at release.

From what I understand the slip covers will be the same as they were with OCN… MVD is only distributing…

This was a concern I had initially… But those that understand the situation corrected me.

Since FCE are releasing Party Girl, does anyone happen to know who would be eligible to release House of Yes (1997) on Blu-ray or UHD? Because that also needs to happen.

It was released by Miramax so it is probably with Paramount now.

FCE would obv be ideal. Otherwise, one can hope that Paramount Presents release it with their occasional off-kilter-yet-cool curating (Back to the Beach). Imprint and/or KL also seem likely.

Paramount don't hold the Australian rights to House of Yes so I'd count Imprint out. Roadshow did and may still hold the rights. If Roadshow don't still hold the rights they would be up for grabs in Australia.

House of Yes was co-produced by Spelling Films. Roadshow only distributed the Spelling catalog until Paramount took over. Since Paramount acquired the Miramax catalog, they ironically have worldwide distribution rights now.

Fun City, any thoughts on releasing this? It seems like something that fits what your label looks for.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this was near the top of our MGM asks back in 2019. It was not available.

Something from MGM/UA (I am assuming that they have the rights) that I would love to see released is Happy Birthday, Gemini (1980).

It is a adaptation of a play but big charges were made to the screenplay to increase the role played by Madelene Kahn whose character is a supporting role in the play.

The film was not well received when it was released and has since pretty much disappeared into obscuity.

It is the second film from Richard Benner who made Outrageous! (1977) with Craig Russell as well as the sequel to Outrageous about 13 years later. (Both Richard Benner and Craig Russell sadly passed away from AIDs not long after the release of the sequel).

Whilst Happy Birthday, Gemini is far from a perfect film it is a really different take on the traditional 'coming out' films and has a great cast. Would be wonderful to see this film get released.

Watched Natural Enemies this afternoon. Holy moly, was this a heavy hitter. Totally engrossing from start to finish. High praise for this film. Great job FCE for getting this one more recognized.

Too bad. I think Fun City would have done justice to it.

Source? That would seem odd considering, as far as I know, Criterion's disc is still in-print and I'd be very surprised if FC was able to make a deal with Disney.
