I have not seen Doctor Sleep yet, but it bombed here in the states, though. I like Mike Flanagan's work, too.

I quite enjoyed it. Especially Rebecca Ferguson’s character. It was no classic like The Shining but still worth seeing (and owning).

Thats true.
Roma was financed by Participant.
The Irishman was paid fully by Netflix. It would benefit Netflix to keep it on its platform for a long time to get people to sign up.
But Scorsese is huge supporter of physical media (he owns like 8000 films). I'm sure he doesn't want the film to live on a cloud forever. He could have a contract to release it on home video. Im hoping thats the case and it will release sometime next year.
As for the movie, The Irishman is a masterpiece.

Yea, Doctor Sleep was just ok..and i love The Shining.
The whole thing with the "steam" was just too hokey for me.

I’ve not. I just moved into my new place last Sunday and still trying to work out my monthly budget. Once I do, I’ll get a PO Box and most likely sign back up for BD Netflix again. Because I can’t get decent internet where I’m living. Seclusion comes at a cost apparently.

I should also clarify about The Irishman -- I loved it and I would definitely buy the BD version of it should it get released on disc. I'm probably going to get Roma on BD, as well. There are some films that I do make the exception to getting on disc and these are two no-brainers.

Catching up.

I can't do digital books. I buy physicall all the time.

I'm buying a videogame tonight, digitally.

I am waiting for the physicals of OATIH and Joker. just bought casino 4k digitally though.

Saw Irishman in theaters, but watched it again on turkey day with my dad in HDR on netflix

Amazon says some of my UHD BD will be delivered in a few days to a few weeks. Must have under estimated Black Friday disc sales.

It is something that most city/urban dwellers do not understand. And the FCC maps are useless because of the way the internet availability is calculated. I am lucky because I am 11 miles from Hendersonville NC (small town) but have internet service via fiber to a node very close to me.

I have decent internet. My streaming movies never buffer or stutter. (aside from frame rate matching issues)

They also never look or sound as good as my physical copies.

One of my favorite things is when my friends want to see movies at my house and knowing I have the best home video version of any given movie is one reason to use discs

I could see me "settling" for less robust internet in the future. I have bonded DSL (25 Mbs) which is slow compared to Cable or Satellite internet. and it's more than capable of what I use it for so having a $80/month connection that is a bit faster is not something I'm going to want or need.

It took me a while to realize it but actually having the content is much more reliable than having to ask someone else for it.

You call 25Mbps decent, I know it's the National Bandwidth Goal but I don't think it's decent. Maybe double that would be closer to decent, maybe 100Mbps should be the National Average. I have FTTP with 85Mbps Symmetrical, and I say that is decent. I can Stream 4K UHD with no problems. Watched the "Irishman" on Netflix, Fantastic Movie!

Nah, in order to have decent internet service you need speeds of at least 240 Mbps like I have. Anything less and you are downright indecent.

I will get around to seeing The Irishman the next time Netflix has more than three things that I care to watch. Until then, my cancellation of them stands.

But, but, it is not Symmetrical so your streaming can not be as good as mine . Poor fella, I almost feel for him.

Yeah, my internet is only assymetrical. But at least I am wired.

Reliable connection
No drop outs
Expensive fibre
Not everyone being on devices at the same time
No data caps
Massive improvements in audio quality
Far less artefacts
No degrade in quality when there are issues with the stream.
A background that isn’t banding in challenging scenes
No panning artefacts or stutter

Basically, to stop being so bloody inferior.
