Kino Lorber Insider - of the Paramount titles left to announce, can you reveal how many are post-1960 titles?

I'm still hoping they will be able to clear up the legal issues to be able to release John Huston's Phobia from the Paramount catalog.

MisterLime shot this down as recently as November, so I suspect it isn't part of the current deal unfortunately.

We should all know better than to take Mr. Lime's word for granted (The Day After, and bunch of other announced titles that he prevously denied).

The Psychopath (1966)
Starring Patrick Wymark, Margaret Johnston, John Standing, Alexander Knox and Judy Huxtable - Shot by John Wilcox (The Third Man) - Written by Robert Block (Psycho) - Directed by Freddie Francis (The Skull).

Legendary horror director and 2-time Academy Award®-winning cinematographer Freddie Francis (The Skull, Tales from the Crypt) directed this classic Amicus chiller which is filled with surprises and keeps its viewers on the edge of their seats. With a serial killer on the loose, Police Inspector Halloway (Patrick Wymark, Where Eagles Dare, Repulsion) investigates a pattern of grisly murders whose perpetrator leaves a small doll by the body of each victim. The four victims are all brutally murdered in different grotesque ways… a knife, a blow-torch, a rope and a car. The case leads Halloway to disabled doll collector Mrs. Von Sturm (Margaret Johnston, Burn, Witch, Burn) who knows a set of dark secrets that may hold the key to the shocking truth. Beautifully shot in Scope by the great John Wilcox (The Third Man) with a screenplay by Robert Bloch (Psycho) and co-starring John Standing (The Legacy), Alexander Knox (Woman of Straw) and the lovely Judy Huxtable (Scream and Scream Again).

Special Features:
• Audio Commentary by Film Historian Troy Howarth
• Reversible Blu-ray Art
• Original Theatrical Trailer

Wasn't Robert Krasker the cinematographer on The Third Man?

edit: A little research reveals that John Wilcox was the 2nd unit cinematographer on The Third Man. He photographed the daytime scenes, under Krasker's (and Carol Reed's, of course) supervision.

Yes, Wilcox was one of the cameraman, we should fix that credit.

I could be wrong, but I've searched before and from what I can gather he never actually denied Kino having The Day After. He replied in the negative to a question about Kino releasing it this year, i.e. 2017, and I think it all came from that.

Admittedly he has deceived us about other titles, so hopefully he was being similarly evasive in this instance.

Any shot of a re-release of WHEN THE WIND BLOWS? Twilight Time put this out but it had an annoying echo in the audio throughout the entire film. The DVD and Region B BFI Blu-ray don't have this issue.

Any ideas as to what the Republic-owned 70s thriller might be?

Not sure what this has to do with Paramount.

To answer your question, sorry, but no shot.

Any guesses? What 3-D does Paramount have? THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE? FRIDAY THE 13th 3-D would be great, but they've released that movie on disc so probably unavailable. Whatever they are, any more 3-D titles are always welcome.

KL Insider,

Will THE PSYCHOPATH be in the original Techniscope aspect ratio of 2:35-1? I have only seen the film in either full-frame or badly cropped to 1:85-1. I missed seeing it in theaters back in 1966, so I've never been able to see it in proper widescreen.

Great announcement! It's never been on home video before in the US, not even on VHS.

"one late 40s film noir" from Paramount... I'd be glad if it's The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, but 1946 is more like the mid-40s, I presume. What else? The Big Clock? (a Paramount picture, but Universal released DVD) Sorry, Wrong Number?

JIVARO...which I would love to see get a 3-d blu-ray release. Never even out on VHS. Solid adventure b-film, with top cast: Fernando Lamas, Richard Denning, Brian Keith, Rhonda Fleming, Lon Chaney Jr., Rita Moreno, etc.
