My local FYE still has like 4 copies of the combo in stock. They are all missing slipcovers though. Weird since they all had the slips a few months back. It's priced ridiculous though, like $45.

Shoot, I paid $100 for the VHS boxset in 1991...and that was just for the original masterwork. Same thing with the laserdisc set. I wish the Blu-Ray set was as comprehensive and refined as the Fantasia Anthology box set from 2000, but the a/v on the blu-ray release is spectacular, and $45 really isn't that outrageous. It's only going to get worse, and despite the fact the set was only officially available for something like four months, we may not see it again for a while.

Hell no, not for this release. Getting ready to order this and pinnochio to replace my dvd versions, as this 2-movie set and pinnochio are the only Disney movies i havent upgraded to, well worth the price.

The restoration of Pinocchio is jaw-dropping. You're in for a treat.

I think Pinocchio is my favorite of all the Disney animations, but Fantasia is way up there too. Just gorgeous!

I picked up my Fantasia discs separately (and used) on ebay a year or so ago. They didn't come with any artwork, so I printed my own and put the discs in a 2-disc case that I bought separately too. I'm very happy with the results even though it isn't completely "store bought". The important thing is that the discs play (and look) great!

Don't know if you are interested but both are still available in Europe and they are very reasonably priced.

So I'm trying to watch the BD-Live material from the Fantasia 2000 disc, but when I try, I get an error and tells me that my player is not connected to the Internet and is unable to access the Disney BD-Live material.

It also tells me to go to http://www.disneybdlivenetwork.com, but this link is no longer there.

I tried other BD-Live discs including Disney's "The Lion King" BD-Live extras and they are working fine.

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the Fantasia 2000 BD-Live? Check it.

The studios have basically stopped supporting BD Live.

Every single Disney Bluray i have says 'Not available' or 'Coming soon' when i try to access the BDlive content. I've in fact used the Disney BDlive through a Disney Bluray in the past, The Lion King actually, im beginning to wonder if the site itself is shutting down or something. Very weird.

Turns out everyone's paranoia was justified. It's really going to suck if I'm not going to be able to access my extras anymore.

Oh, it's horrid. Some movies like Tropic Thunder have fewer bonus features than their DVD counterparts b/c you were supposed to watch them via BD Live.

Glad I held onto the DVD for Tropic Thunder. But yeah, this really ticks me off. Companies should have never used this feature if they had no intention of supporting it.

The transfers are definitely the same. Pinocchio's newest UK release is 1-disc only but the French release has both discs. I'm not sure as to whether it's region locked or not.

Well, I think they would argue, "Why support it if no one is using it?" Yeah, the BD-Live thing was a mistake, an attempt to save money on physical media by streaming bonus content. Luckily, I still have my Fantasia Anthology discs.

And luckily, torrents of the DVDs are still available. We paid for that content after all. They are so useless, they didn't even support it for 3 years. I hope it's temporary.

Maybe that was a factor in taking the Fantasia set off the market so quickly. Everything about that whole release left me scratching my head.

It's locked for sure. These Pinocchio discs are just 1:1 reprints, with or without the bonus disc.

I have NEVER been able to access the Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 BD-Live material at all. On TWO different Panasonic blu-ray players with two different discs in two different households, we have tried more than once to access the material. No way!!
If only Disney would realease the "extras" disc ON "disc" so we who PAID for the material can have it. I hold my old DVD box set WITH the material-on-disc as dear.
