Nintendo Switch 2 Main Thread - Launching 2025

i know this is just a pie in the sky dream…. but these joycon grips suck. and pro controllers shouldnt cost this much.

there should be something better with the system. i know the joy cons are the selling point because they can be used free form and docked… but these are not good with that grip.

Mine from Nintendo is Out for Delivery from FedEx. The guy that does this run is very slow so hopefully before 5pm est.

Went ahead and ordered a case from Walmart with the memory card. Will return the ones I had ordered elsewhere when they show up. Was supposed to be here release day. Keeping my order I have for the pro controller though as I had a $30 credit.

Ok, Costco just passed out tickets to buy, I’m number 17 and they had a pretty huge stack left. Getting a pro controller as well since it’s $10 off.

Staten Island branch of GameStop is stapling receipts to the front of the box and the staples are puncturing the screen. That is some pretty poor packaging from Nintendo.

The packaging and protection is underwhelming but the employees who stapled the receipts to the box are the real bozos here. Did they not have some simple tape? Or some kind of stickers?

Never fear guys, Target just shipped my pro controller. Not the memory card or the Switch 2 console. If you need me, I'll just be in my corner over here

Why should Nintendo have to do anything? If a retailer damages your product before you get a chance to use it, it's the retailer's responsibility to arrange a replacement.

Exactly.Gamestop is going to have to purchase more units from Nintendo to replace. People arent going to go to Nintndo or a replacement/refund

Got my Target shipping email finally! Hopeful when the tracking updates it will say it’s getting here Saturday instead of Wednesday. A little nervous it’s coming Fed Ex, as they have been known to leave my packages any ridiculous place you could think and never safely by my door. It’s like a scavenger hunt around my neighborhood when I see my Fed Ex package has been delivered.
GameCube controller came this morning so I sort of get to have a little bit of launch day on launch day. See you all in Mario Kart eventually.

Got mine, too. Couldn't try Wind Waker since I'm waiting for my kids to get home so he can see it, but I did briefly try out Mario Sunshine and it was pretty cool to play that with a proper GCN controller again.

Also, I briefly tried out some ports like Biochock and Doom on the Switch 2. Bio still ran like crap but it certainly felt like Doom was running much smoother than it had on the original Switch. Only tested briefly so I'm not sure but I don't recall Doom feeling like it was locked at 60fps on OG Switch. Felt like it when I played on S2.

Got my Bundle, ProController & GameCube Controller also today. First time for me, to get a console at launch. Downloaded the GameCube App first, now Mario World.

Have to say, the console really feels premium, especially the ProController. I first was a bit hesitant and thought, maybe I wouldn’t really need one, because I have a bunch original Switch ProControllers and from the previews the new controller didn’t look very different. Also the original ProController was already great. But this new iteration is just amazing. It feels so smooth, slick and kind of futuristic. I‘m actually quite happy now with how everything feels and works. It’s definitely more of a iteration of the former Switch, but it’s also really noticeable.

Now I‘m looking forward to Mario Kart World and Windwaker. But it’s still kind of pathetic, that Nintendo is launching the Game Cube App with only three titles. For 650€ all in all one would guess they could add at least 10 Game Cube Games for the launch…

You can swap A & B! I was so glad when Sony let us swap X & O, now the accept/positive button is in the same physical location on all systems. Of course, Nintendo won’t update the on-screen display to match the swapped buttons, but it’s a start.

I play Switch the least of all, so I always got the buttons backwards for the first few minutes of play, love this change.
