at least one of the discs is problematic and doesn't play a few of the episodes. Has anyone with the set experienced this?
i wish i could help you out with this but i am only on disc 4 in the 1st season of the original cartoon, haha it's a lot of he-man
got mine for a little bit more at fye with a gift card, so had to pay nothing out of pocket =)
the soundtrack on the set is amazing as well, even though its only 12 to 15 min long

I'm not sure what you mean but I bought the Blu-ray version at Amazon.com if that helps...

It's the Season 2 Disc 3 with 3 episodes starting with "Three On A Dare" and followed by the next two episodes "Just A Little Lie" and "One For All".
For me, the episode starts but half-way through it stops and won't let me continue.

If I were you, I'll check the above disc and make sure if it plays since it seems to be a problem with the disc itself. I contacted Mill Creek via their support e-mail for a replacement disc.

I have it, it's fairly decent, for what it is. Locked to Region A.
Cheers - been thinking about picking a version up.

I was just asking which version it was, since it has been released twice in the US - and possibly in other countries as well?

It looks similar to those cases which Criterion use.

I took some more old DVDs to the used store and used the money to score these.
The digibook of Poltergeist was on the used rack at the same store for cheap, and, although I am not normally a fan of the digibooks, this one is pretty impressive, and, even in mint condition, still cheaper than the standard case edition.
Firefox/Heartbreak Ridge was on sale for $7.88 in the Walmart bin, and it was worth having to sift through several inferior Blu-rays in the scattered bin to find it.
Better Off Dead, which I have been looking for since I bought a Blu-ray player, was on the used rack at the used store.
The Maltese Falcon and Apocalypse Now were both at Barnes & Noble next door. Apocalypse Now is on sale for 30% off for B&N members.

Damn, I should have ordered Perks from Amazon like I'm assuming all of you did. I have time to watch it today...won't for the next week.

So Skyfall and Perks (blind buy) will be put on the back-burner.

i remember seeing that movie when it was first on hbo...back in the day. all my friends refused to watch it because they said it was too scary. i remember watching it like 100 times because i was just so enamored with the fx (the guys face peeling off into the sink, classic) and i was never frightened or scared to watch it late at night, even at a young age.

i GOTTA have that digibook! it will be mine. i swear it!

So I was driving by my local Blockbuster and found they are having a "Going Out of Business" Sale. So I stopped in a grabbed a few things. The sale had only gone on for about 4 hours and a ton of new releases had already sold out, but I did find a few blu rays and PS3 games to add to the back log.

[Show spoiler]

...Wait a minute... Upon further inspection, "The House At The End of the Street" only cost me $.93. Awesome!

This mint condition used copy cost me $11. Ever so often, the used store up the street from me has quality Blu-rays on the used rack for great prices.

I have loved Poltergeist since it came out at the theater when I was a kid, so this was a no-brainer for me. I fear that seeing the clown doll in high definition will freak me out all over again, even after all these years. So very much worth it, though!

If there are any used stores near you, a little bit of patience and the thrill of the hunt pays off in spades sometimes.

Good luck!
