Nothing special about any of these for them to wait this long with an announcement. Had they withheld the Fellini announcement with this then it would have been big.

Wow, I actually guessed two correctly. That's never happened. Either way we knew they were coming.

The Irishman and Ghost Dog is excellent news. Hell yeah.

I have a feeling that it's going to be a big one and it only makes me much more hyper lately.

At first, I'll admit, I was a bit upset that they didn't say anything, but realizing that it's not worth being mad about and they don't owe me anything as I still love their hard work, I decided to stop being mad about it and hoping they are alright. I think waiting for their November release is going to be a fun one to wait on since it's going to leave you on the edge of your seats like driving a big tank of nitroglycerin for hours with only the expectations of an end coming soon.

Waiting much later for these releases are only fueling my hype much more and I kind of like it to be honest (Of course, not too long but the delay causing much more hype and potential of a big announcement is surely an exciting thought)

EDIT: They just came up! The Irishman is good but wow, I guess we should've waited longer since Moonstruck wasn't finished yet! Ghost Dog was EXTREMELY QUICK though (I thought it would be next year). A friend of mines recommended that one to me as my favorite film is Branded to Kill so I guess I'll be getting that one then! Also seems like I was wrong about Memories of Murder (Wait until December I guess. Which would be my third year anniversary of seeing that film!)

Looks like they were waiting on the Moonstruck Artwork or waiting on someone to finish the placeholder in order to announce.

That's easy to say since you don't really know anything behind the scenes. As you can see Moonstruck doesn't have cover art. It's entirely possible they were waiting for something like that before deciding to go ahead and announce without it. I'm not even sure why anyone is freaking out here, they're literally just a day later than they would otherwise announce.

No upgrades this month (not including Fellini). Haven’t seen that in awhile. Moonstruck is kind of a welcome surprise

Been waiting on that Ghost Dog forever. Sheeeeeeit!!!

I agree, why is everyone expecting a giant announcement because of a one day delay? Also, just because a film doesn't interest some, doesn't mean it won't be interesting to someone else.

Not a huge fan of Girlfriends or Moonstruck... but The Irishman, Ghost Dog, and the Fellini set are enough to make this an all-timer month for me.

This film began as a thirty-minute short funded by the American Film Institute for $10,000. Footage from the short became the first seven minutes of the completed feature. Director Weill decided she wanted to expand the story into a full-length movie and received taxpayer funds through the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council for the Arts to the tune of $80,000. When that money ran out, the production stalled until private investors could be found. This caused the production to stretch out over two and a half years. Actual filming took six to seven weeks.

This is easy - I’ll take em all! Wish they’d just go with poster art for Moonstruck.

Holy crap, this one is a surprise...

I watched it a year ago on The Criterion Channel before it expired, never thinking it would get the Criterion Blu-ray treatment. I watched it before I started posting mini-reviews here, so this is all I had to say about it...

It wasn't great, and I'm not sure I'd even recommend it, but I love that the Channel hosts oddities like that and 1968's Uptight (also expired).
Criterion will have its work cut out for it restoring this movie. The print on the Channel looked super rough. Those issues aside, I didn't exactly love it - but I will say it's an interesting little oddity.

I hope this means the strange and obscure but memorable Uptight (1968) has a chance of getting a physical release down the road too. It might be considered "too controversial" though (not by me).

Nice month. Had never heard of Girlfriends. That's always nice. And the first North American Blu-ray release of Ghost Dog. That's awesome.

I've never seen Ghost Dog, though I've heard great things about it. Girlfriends looks interesting, hopefully it'll show up on the Criterion Channel so I can check it out. Moonstruck is a charming movie though it's not something I'd need to own.

Ah yes, I recorded Moonstruck on TCM a few months ago and still haven't watched it yet.
I'll gladly do so if it will bring my spirits up during the depressing pandemic.

Weird that the cover art for Moonstruck isn’t finalized yet. That must be what took so long.
