That's a good price for those speakers. However, Sony's speaker offerings are not exactly high-end. I would recommend to go listen to them and see what you think. You can get the pair for about $173 on Amazon so it's not an amazing deal, so I wouldn't rush it whatever your decision is.

But not enough to keep them past 7 months, right?

lol. actually the only reason i sold them is because i got polk r50's from frys for like $50 a speaker, otherwise i would still have them

when i got the ssf-6000 i got them from a website called http://www.ugotadeal.com i only paid $136 for the pair back then. this is a good deal but look around some more.

They do look like the Sony 6000s, Sony speakers are not terrible for the money, they perform decently. I would suggest that if you can find some better speakers for about the same amount then go that route. Here is what I upgraded toLINK over my old Sonys and the Energys are a whole lot better. Sony speakers tend to be a little Boomy and don't hold the Mids and Highs as well as other speaker companies. If you have a budget of about $200 for the front right and left, then I suggest that you really look into the Energys, they are a mid-high end company that is getting rid of this line and you can find incredible deals on these speakers right now. The matching Center is $85 for the C-C50 and $120 for the C-C100.

Otherwise in that budget newegg.com has the Monitor 50s for about $200 a pair too, but I think the Energys are better for about the same amount of money. IMO

Default SS-f7000

Actually, the picture shown has the feet on the speakers, and those would be the 7000's. I have the 6000's and I like em so far.

And that price is for one, but 2 come in a box.

Well after looking through many post and doing some reading my addiction has started, and I ordered a Polk CS1 Cherry center off of newegg on thursday, so it looks like I will be looking for matching polk floorstanding speakers. I just hope this center will sound nice. I'm going to have to do this peice by peice as much as I dont want to, but bills come before this crazy HT addiction I have started. I want to peice together the speakers and then make a final decision on a reciever as I have yet to drop that bomb. Thanks for all the info guys, I hope this center works out well. I have never had an HDTV before or any surround sound system as well, so this should be interesting! More to COME
