I found that the US-release of the "Ocean's Trilogy" wasn't reviewed as that good.
Especially with the absence of lossy audio... Anyone know if upcoming releases, such as the upcoming UK-version, would be any better? I lean towards that it's probably the same thing. However, seeing its different box-art and about 1½ years between the US and UK ones, it might be a new transfer. Well it better be, but then it's strange there doesn't seem to be a new US-version coming. Then again, there was no UK-version released yet, at least not a trilogy-box. So it's confusing... Sorry if there is already a thread about this by the way. Please send me to it if there is, I couldn't find it. Also, I just noticed the first trilogy-box is called a "giftset" on this website. Is that purely because it's a collection-box or did they add something? Nothing is mentioned in the review, but just wondering as they usually do. Well, if nobody knows, we could at least wait until... Oh no wait, they don't do "official" reviews on releases in other regions here... They should really find people for that. ![]() |

Except the price of "around £45,-" is rather minus £15,- at Amazon UK. ![]() I actually saw it there looking for things to add to my basket. But it was under new products or pre-orders actually. I like the box more than the first though, really nice this one. If only they could resist putting on the blu bar; just the white BD-logos on the front and side would clean it up so much. Like for exampleee... the 'Batman Anthology'-box, really well done. Then again, that title's photoshop-artwork shows a bar like this one too. So it might not be there, but I'm afraid for it... I didn't see the films at all, but I have an idea. And the box seems to fit like the "classy" thing in the films. Also kind of that "heist"-feel or something. :P Last edited by Damage Inc.; 05-23-2009 at 09:02 AM. |

I was also wondering the price for a new release costing LESS than 10 per movie.
I'm afraid, seeing the price, it would be a simple re-release of the same discs. But, I don't know, something tells me it's not, but it would be too good to be true. Oh wait a minute, I forgot how the situation was. There has been no "trilogy-box" for these films in the UK yet. So it's a big chance that it's the US-box now simply released in the UK, with a new sleeve. We'll see in about a week or two right? |

Since its a warner release unless they announced it with lossless audio (like they did with the 2D/3D edition of polar express) then It will be the exact same disk as before.
Since warner port the US disks and if the US disks don't have the lossless sound then the UK ones will not as well. Warner are to cheap. Last edited by stargazeruk; 06-17-2009 at 07:13 PM. |

Laaame. :P Is it so hard to create some great transfers from recent films? They dug up series from the 60s or so and have it do all kinds of things and look great. This however, is a bit weak. Why do they do this? They don't care about these films? Perhaps they wouldn't sell well anyway or they would think so? Orrr... they have plans for later? |

TBH, I don't think there is much of a need for a lossless audio as the Ocean's aren't really all that big sound dynamic from your normal movie. They are more dialogue & music orientated across the front stage. I bought Ocean 12.. I think the dolby 640 works well.. it sounds much better than the highly compressed dvd at 384
