Default Sub is not working

Today my one of my 2 Boston Acoustics subs stop working. The green power light is on, but it has no sound. I moved it to my bedroom setup to see would it work. Still no go. I checked the fuse and it appears to not to be blown( I am a newb in the fuse game and hope that I am looking at it right to make sure it is not blown.) I was hoping someone might have some insight on what it could be before I call boston tom to send it back in. Thanks.

It appears as though you have narrowed it down to a problem in the sub, itself, but just in case, did you make sure the volume knob wasn't turned all the way down on it?

Could be a severed connection inside the sub wiring/circuits, damaged components, a broken connection jack, or even a burned out driver (doubt that one, though). If it is still under warranty, that's a good thing.

Yeah, the volume was about half way up. It is still under warranty, bought it in nov 08. Thanks for the quick response. I really didnt want to have to send it back in, but at least I still have one working while this one is away.

lets isolate the connection then,

have you swiped the cable by chance to another one, just to see if it might be a faulty cable issue?

Check all connections and cables. If everything is ok, then it is either the amplifier or the driver. This happend to me a few months ago and I found out that I had blown the driver. Have you cranked up the volume too high recently?

It doesn't matter that you are a noob. It is simple task. All it takes to fix your sub is a screw driver and some money.

Read Repairing & Upgrading Subwoofers. Some of the links for parts are in Post #1, but most of them are at the end of Post #2.

Thanks for the replies. I think its either the amp or the driver also. I have changed all cabling and everything I could think of and it still does not work. So I will be looking at the stick about repairing subs. Thanks again
