I was curious. I went to the Sony site, and saw all manner of other Microsoft OS mentioned that they (Sony) support for the firmware updates, but no mention of Vista. Has anyone else with Vista downloaded the firmware update (2.0) for the BDP-S1, or any other BD player? I have a Sony Vaio Laptop, with Vista, but when I went to do the download, and try to make it work in the BD player, it said, 'Can't Read Disc', or something like that.
Hmm. Maybe I did not finalize or something, but I thought I did. And I used a RW disc like they suggested. ![]() |

Don't know if this might help or not, cause I don't have one (own the PS3). But when I went to download and install the editor software for my old Phillips Pronto TSU7000 remote, it would not install under Vista. But on AVSForm I was told to right click on the install program and select XP Compatiblity mode, and it installed just fine then. So that might help?
But from when I read on that website, it appears that is just might be an ISO image, which you need someting like Nero to burn that IMAGE to a disc. Maybe that is what you need to do, if you were just copying the file to disc? |

I have a PS3 along with a new computer with Vista. I was able to download all of the latest updates / upgrades via a broadband hookup. I tried downloading the updates to a flash memory drive and did not have any luck.
I feel silly for saying this, but I had to contact Sony to get my PS3 configured properly. It works like a charm now, but I could never explain to someone else how I did it. Also, check the PS3 website about downloading the updates via storage media. There are some steps you have to take in order for the PS3 to recognize the updates. Brett |
