Default LOST SEASONS 1-2 Review Thread

Yep its me.. .

I remember watching the very 1st season and going wow I really like this.
With great actors and writers Lost has become a huge kult show. Dealing with religon, science, mthys, games, time lines,etc.. How did you like the 1st two seasons? ...Alot of people didnt get the show all together(I feel bad 4 them) and now its coming to an end next year what will we do?

Tell us some of your theory's on LOST.

Still have a funny feeling that cabin is somewhat the future of what we have seen. Locke see's an eye and Hurley see's an eye, I think this is maybe from S6 and we are going to see it from that perspective soon enough!

If this thread is going to be on ideas about Lost . .you might want to change the title from Season 1-2 because we might spoil things for some people who are not past those seasons yet!

My basic theory is Jacob is good and trying to accomplish creating a eutopian society. He keeps bringing people to the island but it keeps ending in violence, greed, etc. The other guy (maybe his brother?) is the opposite .. has no faith in humans and wants to prove Jacob wrong.

I think Richard came originally on the Black Pearl .. and when that group ended up in violence/corruption .. Richard was one of them that did not participate. I think Jacob choose Richard to be his spokesperson and gave him immortality in return for his work. It seems neither Jacob or the other guy can directly influence or force actions on anyone. In the sense they can not impose on peoples free will. Jacob uses Richard and the other guy uses visions of people who have died on the island to manipulate people (Christian, etc).

I also think the Orchid is the dark guys power source .. and the energy from the Swan (hatch was built over) is Jacbos. Afterall, the Swan power source brought people to the island .. and the Orchid is designed to move the island and keep people away.

This is just opinions from reading some various things online and my own conclusions. This obviously leaves open many questions .. but that is what season 6 is for!

I miss the days of there just being an island and just surviving. Locke doing his boar hunting and search for hatches. Then they got off the island, it wasn't as fun.

BTW its the BLACK ROCK... I do belive that Dan Farday dad is Brother Campell(the Monk guy) and not widmore.. There is a picture of ellie and Brother monk together..I think someone told her to get Widmore involed so he would thinks it is and with that he will provide the funds and education 4 his future.

Well now that they are releasing the seasons on blu-ray, I might finally watch this series that's so amazing apparently.

Chances are I'll wait for them as an Christmas gift or something.

Well, none of the seasons matched. Season 3 had an awesome outer box and then 4 was just a slipcover. They're set up like 4 with a slipcover. Check out the hot deals section and look for LOST buy more save more. There's a pic of the case in there!

bump'd.

I decided to do a little LOST Marathon. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. I'l just about done with disk 1. So far I'm impressed by the sound. The DTS track is electrifying.

I'm going to start a four season marathon starting in August. I think I have it timed where I can watch an episode a day until the season five release. I'm not saying that I won't watch some of my favorite season 1 and 2 episodes before then.

Psh...I'm watching them now 1-5 and then I'll re-watch them in the fall ending right around the time for S.6.

RE-watching the Pilot...I thought it was hilarious when Boone said that he was a lifeguard and knew what he was doing. Meanwhile Jack being a Dr. pretty much told him he was full of sh*8 and needed to give back his license lol. He told him to fetch a pen and he actually did.

Default Premiere part 1

I have been waiting for my fellow lostaholics to start dissecting the first two seasons, but apparently you want to keep your thoughts to yourselves? I did watch part 1 of the premiere and was looking for a specific item in the filming. Using what we know now to better interpret what we saw way back when, my memory is far from perfect, without a Stephie summary post it is jumbled at best, you can look at specific details that would seem important
[Show spoiler] like the airline stewardess giving jack the extra shots of liquor. I know everyone knows that part, I had no recollection of it so it was good to see it again, seemed trivial at the time but her joining the Others with an unexplained past is still an open mystery.

[Show spoiler]
However the thing I was focussed on was in this past season or maybe it was S4 Dan Faraday mentions how the light on the island is unusual, sort of scatters, etc. That caught my attention, being a true lostaholic I was always bothered by the fact that no one had put a vertical stick in the sand and used their watch to calculate their longitude; at least Artz should have done that before he blew himself apart. Anyway I started paying more attention to the lighting used on the show and did notice that you seldom see significant shadows, oh yeah, the Shadow of the Statue people brought that to a sharper focus for me as well. It may be pure unintentional coincidence or by design, but the photography is done in a way that peoples' shadows are seldom seen. Either they use overcast days or cloud cover to shoot a lot of scenes or it is high noon or the more common aspect is the video is shot at an upward angle so the ground is not in view very often. There are some shadows but they are not nearly as prolific as I would expect, being filmed near the equator helps with that and maybe that is the only issue along with middle of the day filming but it still gives me something to look for. I had to discard my original thought on this that it might be an indication that they are all actually dead since the O6 made it back to society.

Sorry about not adding spoiler tags before, figure the show is five years old, everything has been aired so there is nothing to spoil.

RIP MJ & FF

I've been watching them. Currently on D.3 of S.2. The Locke black/white eye thing is really interesting. The whole Cindy the flight attendant thing always drove me nuts. She appears to be a good person and she gets snatched up by the others. I hope we get her side of the story.

I was hoping to see Cindy at the end of season 5, but so far, no go. That would really be crappy of them to exclude her story as they're now doing with Libby. Regardless, I'm sure season 6 will be amazing.

I'm currently on season 1, episode 5. So far, every single episode has sounded astoundingly sharp and clear. The opening scene where Jack first opens his eyes gave my subwoofer a good workout! I can't wait to get off work to continue my Lost marathon in HD.

Gotta agree, I stopped in here to see some user reviews of the the Season 1 & 2 blu-rays, as the title suggests....but this is regular Lost discussion with spoilers in here, very misleading.
