Default Fox Snags Licensing Rights For Entire Halo Franchise

While the Halo film is still in limbo, Fox has signed a deal making them the primary license holder for the entire Halo franchise.
By Brian Sullivan

Less than a year ago, Fox had plans with Universal to produce a movie based on the Halo franchise. Since then, such plans were canceled and news regarding the Halo movie was pretty much non-existent.

Now, however, Fox is back on the Halo wagon, as they have secured the primary licensing rights for the franchise, according to a report from Variety. With Fox at the helm of the franchise, they plan to release a large assortment of products including books, clothing, and other merchandise to coincide with Halo 3's September release. Fox is confident that they can sell licensed products even all the way up to the release of the fourth game in the franchise, due to the series' immense popularity.

This news of Fox handling the licensing for Halo merchandise should not be taken as a hint that the movie is finally undergoing production, however. Thus far, no further information regarding the Halo motion picture has been revealed.

That Means That If A Halo Movie Is Made It Will Be Exclusive To Blu-Ray
