Default Hellraiser Video Quality Issue?

So I put in my Hellraiser BD last night for the first time... and it looked HORRIBLE! Throughout the movie there were vertical green lines in a majority of the black fields of the movie. This occured when I had the video output settings to Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr. When I changed it to RGB they would go away, but there were vertical lines along the edges of the characters' faces. Very distracting from the movie. I will try to get a picture to show what I'm talking about.

But has anyone else run into this problem? I have never had any issues with ANY of my BDs.

I thought Hellraiser looked the best it ever had. The blu-ray was a remarkable improvement over past DVD editions.

Not sure what "green lines" you are referring to....is there any way you can take a screen shot?

I have Hellraiser and thought the picture quality was fantastic considering. It is the best it has ever looked. Try replacing your hdmi cable.

I don't see how the HDMI cable would be the problem. I watched a movie last night that wasn't Hellraiser and it worked fine. Also played games.

Perhaps I should mention my setup, I have a PS3 that is running to an Onkyo 606 via HDMI, then from the Onkyo to a Panny plasma. Never any video issues when doing anything else. I'm at a loss. Portions of the movie looked amazing, when the lines weren't present. But once they came it looked terrible. I suppose I will try switching out some HDMI cables and see if it helps.

Hmm. I suppose it could be a bad disc then. Id try exchanging the disc if others are ok. Let me know how you get on.

I just got off the phone with amazon and they are going to overnight me a replacement disc, talk about service! Hopefully that resolves the issue.

The only bummer is it was the first time my brother saw a blu-ray movie being played, haha. I had to make sure to explain to him that this was a very rare occurence

I'd exchange it. I already exchanged 3 movies that was giving me problems.

dude for a first timer you don't want to show him a catalog title unless it's something he's very familiar with and has seen the dvd many times and the blu-ray is a hugely obvious upgrade(like Beetlejuice).

now if you are a coke fiend and if I want to hook you on some heroin I'm going to give you a taste of the finest, most mind blowing stuff I have, not the it's great and different from cocaine but still just "aight" stuff, amirite?

I like to shock a newb with something like Planet Earth or Baraka if they dig that stuff or maybe I'll hit them up with some Sin city, Nightmare Before X-Mas, or Tropic Thunder depending on their tastes. yafeelme playA?!

A Bug's Life maybe?

Haha, nice. Well it wasn't a planned display of blu-ray. He just kind of popped in right at the end of the movie. Also pretty much ruining the watching experience, if it wasn't already too ruined by the green lines.

Update though, I got my new copy from Amazon and it works perfectly. I mailed back the defective one today. Must have just been a bad disc. Thankfully Amazon has great customer service!

I'm going to have to make him come back and watch something decent like, as you said, Planet Earth. Try to woo him back into blu-ray.

But umm... about that heroin *cough cough* I need a fix!
Kidding, haha. My only addiction is dvds/blu-rays, thankfully.

I have it and a ps3 and it looks wonderful. the best the movie has ever looked. Also you have to remmber that this is a very low budget movie from the 80's and will never look as good as say, Dark Knight or other new movies.
