Default Stay away from Nero 9

This is a copy of a support response from Nero concerning the playback of BD's in Nero 9/Showtime 5:

"Unfortunately, the previously offered Blu-ray/HD DVD Video Plug-in does not work with the latest Nero 9 version. The new Blu-ray Disc Authoring Plug-in for Nero 9 is available as an add on. Please purchase it through the following link from our website http://www.nero.com/eng/bluray-disc-...ng-plugin.html
This plug-in provides the necessary tools to create Blu-ray Discs with HD integrated menus and burning Blu-ray Discs for playback on Playstation® 3 and other Blu-ray Disc players.

We would like to draw your attention to the following: BD-ROM media cannot be played back using Nero ShowTime 5. (Nero ShowTime is part of the Nero 9 Suite).
Nevertheless you can install Nero 8 and Nero 9 side by side. That way you can play back BD-ROM media using Nero ShowTime 4.5 (part of the the Nero 8 Suite; playback requires the Blu-ray/HD DVD Video Plug-in)."

This my friends is very....stupid!!!! You can burn BD's but you can't play them, you must use version 8 witht he BD playback plugin. Nero is losing it bigtime. (I'm still happy with TMT !!!!)

Wow!
I dropped Nero way back when it went to v7.

Best to use an actual player software to watch BDs on the computer.

Thanks Rich!

I use the Nero 9 Software Suite...but not for watching blu-ray movies. I think, IMHO, that it is best to use dedicated blu-ray playback software such as PowerDVD 9 Ultra. Just my $0.02.

Yeah I know - I use a dedicated software player, I've been doing this for quite some time - but Nero was the first one that I ever had (Nero 7 with the plug-in). I just happend to check in on Nero to see what they are doing (I get all of these ads from them and finally decided to take a peak). I made this post so people won't be deceived by Nero - thats all

I have nero 9, and yes it sucks a$$.

I have found other methods to achieve my goals. Nero is just plain horrible. I should have learned my lesson after Nero 7 came out.

Here is a great CD Burning program and it's free CDBurnerXP
supports a ton of options ISO, DVD, File backups and more.

Default nero 9

I have the trial version and I cannot get it off the computer. I've tried removing the program and it won't let me. Any thoughts?
