Default Stan Lee joins IRON MAN cast

** (Apologies if this was posted -- I DID go back a few pages & didn't see anything so hopefully not) **

Stan Lee Joins "Iron Man" Sequel

(By Garth Franklin Monday June 29th 2009 04:42AM - www.darkhorizons.com)

Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee is tipped to play legendary interviewer Larry King in the upcoming "Iron Man" sequel reports Nuke the Fridge.

Appearing as King, Lee will apparently interview Tony Stark on Larry King Live and will question Stark on his latest innovations. Specifically this will include Stark's new "modified 'black' Iron Man suit"

The casting is a larger than usual role for Lee who only cameos in Marvel films. Lee seemed to be playing Playboy creator Hugh Hefner in the first "Iron Man" film.

I'd rather have him play Hefner again.

I think maybe they might mean, he will be playing a type of Larry King character?

Does anyone really want to see Larry King play himself?! Lol. I mean, the guy's Ego is already big enough. It'll be fun to see Stan playing him with the suspenders & "hello Cleveland, you're on Larry King Live. What's your question for Tony Stark?"

Nah, I don't think so - it says he's tipped "to play Interviewer LARRY KING, not a Larry King type character.

i think it's great that they fit him into all of these movies, the man is responsible for pretty much an entire comic universe.

the black suit is the lighter weight "stealth suit" in the comic, cool.

I always look forward to spotting him in comic book movies for this very reason.

I'm pretty sure theres a clause in the contracts of the movies where he has the right to feature in a cameo of sorts or they won't get licence to use the Marvel characters or something like that

Didn't know that, that explains why he's on every Marvel movie. I still like his little cameos though and I think he should be in every Marvel movie.

I've never seen it on the pics released so far. Can't wait to see it though.

He was in Daredevil but not in Ghost Rider. I don't think he created Ghost Rider.

In Daredevil, Matt Murdock stops him from crossing the street and saves him from getting hit by a car/bus.

Wasn't in the Blade movies either. There's nothing like a clause. It's just out of respect for the man and the characters he's created.

He was the last thing shot in The Incredible Hulk. Schedules wouldn't align and they ended up flying him to Canada to film the shot after everything else was finished.

Your theory is backed by the films Stan Lee has appeared in. So far, I've only seen him in movies where he created the characters. Spider Man, FF, Daredevil, X-Men, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk. I thought his cameo appearance as Hugh Hefner in Iron Man was funny. By that reasoning we'll probably see him in Thor since he helped create the Marvel comics version of that character and if they ever made one, I think you can bank that he'd be in a Doctor Strange movie too.

I didn't see him in Elektra, Ghost Rider, or any of the Punisher movies.
