Anyone notice Best Buy has 2 versions of the Transformers on Blu-ray. One is on sale for $19.99 and the other is $24.99 but not available till 7/28/09. Anyone have a clue why.
just search transformers on the bestbuy site and click movies you will see |

Well I checked the website and the $24.99 has an sku that starts with a 1. If it starts with a 1 and doesn't change before the release date then the Best Buy stores don't receive it at all. Also, the ones with an sku that starts with a 1 if it does change to where that 1 becomes any other number then sometimes Best Buy will bring down that price by a couple of dollars but we will see on July 28th.

My best guess is that the version without a slipcover is the other sku, and they will have adjusted the price before it's in stock.
Or if the current one is on sale, maybe they just decided not to apply the sale price if it won't be that price upon its release. |

I thought I read on one of these threads that they are re-releasing it with more content? Not sure but I thought that is what I read.

If that's the case, then some stores must have screwed up. I saw the non-slip cover version at my local Best Buy a few weeks ago, and it caught my eye specifically because not only did it not have a slip cover, but the artwork was reformatted to all be on the paper cover that goes inside the plastic sleeve on the case.

Yep, MovieCash for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
Film arrives in theaters on August 7th so it make sense to use the other Hasbro product to push it. By the way for those that don't know: Captain/Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel) in Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of The Fallan is a G.I. Joe character. |

The more expensive version contains a prequal comic to Transformers 2...Totally useless...
