![]() ![]() Snapped these pics today when I stopped in my local Hollywood Video during my lunch break. I am so tired of seeing people/places that should be informed still doing stuff like this! ![]() This is what's written in the upper left corner of the display!!!! Why is this kinda stuff still happening? I'm not even going to say anymore! Have fun!! Last edited by rebfandan; 07-02-2009 at 10:43 PM. |

I think I'd need to speak to a manager about fixing that on the spot, or I'd be talking to corporate and the BDA right away.
These people are supposed to be the "experts" that the public can depend on for accurate and non-confusing information. Thankfully I have noticed that the traffic flow and customer base of Hollywood Video will keep people from actually seeing this. |

It just annoys me that the retailers' point-of-purchase (signage) designers will let things like this get through. By keeping "DVD" on the sign, you run the risk of an uninformed (and this whole thread is just disgust with misinformation) customer picking it up and wasting their money on what they think is a DVD that will look better. And when the BD won't play, they have to go through the hassle of returning to the store, trying to get $$ back, etc. Let's be honest, we all know that there is a certain segment of consumers who believe that a DVD will be in high def if they jsut watch it on a high def monitor. Why should the people who are supposed to know better add to the confusion? Last edited by rebfandan; 07-02-2009 at 10:40 PM. |

Even though it irked me, I didn't mention it to the clerk because it's not his fault and what could he do anyway? I've worked in retail, and anyone who has knows it can be pretty annoying to have to listen to that kind of stuff when you're busy enough as it is. I guess I sound more upset than I really am. I really just thought a few people might find it interesting that another retailer is still getting it wrong. |

Since the cashier was apparently well-informed about BD, maybe s/he asks people if they have a BD player whenever s/he notices someone purchasing a BD movie.
But I guess cashiers asking that would probably make someone else create a pointless thread about that. |

Ha! Maybe I'll go by tomorrow and ask if there's anything he'd like me to mention.
