Default HTPC - how complicated is building one?
The only hands on PC stuff I've done is upgrading memory, installing cards, hard drives, etc. Simple stuff.

Would I be in way over my head trying to build a htpc with BD playback from scratch?

I'm considering taking the $500 I would have spent on an Oppo player and put it towards a complete setup for the rack. It would be region free without a mod, and control playback of all my dvd/cd collection with a slick interface.

Any reason I shouldn't try it?
