Default Would you trust this?

I'm looking to a get this 50" Panasonic in September.

The only issue is what stand to get, I've been looking at this one but I've never mounted a tv or even used a mount before. Can I trust this? Reviews are all positive that its very sturdy, but I want some more opinions. And how easy is it to mount a TV up, 2 man job?

Here's the Stand/Mount

That stand will definitely be fine for that tv...

Mounting it is definitely a 2 man job, no more no less. Its a bit harder to mount a plasma because they are generally heavier than an LCD, but overall is not a difficult task at all..

I never cared for that style of stand/mount because I'd just rather get a nice component rack, or a longer furniture grade stand, and wall mount the T.V. for a much cleaner appearance, but as mentioned, the stand will certainly be fine for the T.V. but don't try to do it alone.

Here's a pretty nice one..... I prefer this look.

How do they mount? Does the TV get screwed in or just placed on it. I know literally nothing about TV mounts. I need to be 100% sure I wanna do this.

And to the above poster, I can't do that because the TV will be in a corner.

In the picture below, the two vertical pieces will screw into the back of you tv using 4 screws. The vertical pieces will then hang on the horizontal piece (the black thing in the picture you linked) and most likely be secured in by two screws underneath.

wall mounting is easy. get your mount from monoprice.com.

i have a 50" panny plasma and have it on a tilt mount from monoprice and the mount was only $25! it is solid as a rock

all you have to do is make sure the wall mount sits directly over at least 2 studs in your wall and it will be good. get a stud detector, mark the wall, drill your pilot holes and away you go. i am the most useless diyer on the planet and i got mine wall mounted in about 20 mins.

i agree with beta man mount that sucker and get a furniture type stand underneath -have your system lookin on point-im my opinion the stand is a bit commercial for me i like the classy wall mounted look better-obviously depends on budget too.

I'd wall mount it as well. Which I am planning on doing soon once I move this weekend. It's a better look and you should be happier with the end result. It might cost you a few bucks more but oh so nice!

one like this can be used in a corner

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Then something either parallel to the wall, or angled in the corner under it, and if you need a narrow one for your space, something like this.

http://www.racksandstands.com/VTI-BL404-VI1001.html

or something more like furniture etc. if you prefer.
