Default THX ultra2/select2 subwoofer Yes or NO?

what is THX ultra2/select2 subwoofer yes or no option, I am using a onkyo 706 receiver and was just going through my settings because of the thread about setting all your speakers to 80hz(THX). I set my fronts and rears to 80 and the lpf of lfe to 120 is this all right?

In my honest opinion, I would set them to your own likings. I ran the auto mic calibration and it set all my speakers to 80Hz. However, I bought my tower speakers and a new center channel to get more depth in my front soundstage. I set my 3 front speakers to full band and turned the bass to +8 and treble to +5 and these speakers don't even distort at high volumes. It makes movies much more enjoyable. Atleast in my house they do because of the 15" subwoofer that I'm running I needed a bit more midbass so the transition between my subwoofer and the rest of the speakers mix easier. The subwoofer was kicking in way too much before.

Simple, if you have a sub, select yes. If not, or if you have really good fronts that can go deep, then select no. Or if you have a sub with left and right speaker inputs and outputs and want to use the sub's amp, then select no.
