Default Today was suppose to be great

Unfortunately it was not. This is because when I posed the question:

"Will the Marantz receivers turn a 5.1 lossless soundtracks into 7.1 audio for my system?"

The answer I received from my Marantz dealer, this forum, and MARANTZ(!?!) was "sure will." But the day after I ordered the sr6003 guess what I find?

"Another issue I have with the SR6003’s movie playback is that the only way to turn a 5.1 source into 7.1 is to turn on Dolby Pro-Logic IIx or Dolby Surround EX processing."

So I buy a receiver that decoded lossless audio, which I want, and I have to turn it off and listen the my blu rays in Pro Logic IIx. This is not what I want. The only way I can find to do what I want is to have a blu ray player that decodes the audio and send it PCM to the receiver. If the people who told me it was possible assumed I had a player that could do this they were mistaken. So I get to pay $40.00 to ship it back and then wait until my card gets credited then wait until my new Denon avr 989 gets here.

Today was not great. But this has been a learning experience for me. I learned that when there is a litmus test for a product I am buying SPEAK TO A HUMAN AT THE MANUFACTURER!
