Default Blu-ray ghosting/grain

Hi all, I am really having some problems with ghosting and graininess that I can't seem to get rid of even with fiddling with the Nvidia control panel and lowering the sharpness to 0

Processor: i7
Gfx: GTX 260 Nvidia
Blu ray drive: LG blu ray x6 speed (as shown on Newegg)
Monitor: 23' 1080p LG monitor 2ms gtg

Software: PowerDVD 7 (comes with the drive) Yes, it is outdated. is this the prob?

Also, I have a dvi to dvi cable with an hdmi adapter connected to end of male dvi is this the problem? Loss signal?

Thanks for the help.

You cant get rid of grain. It is supposed to be there. As for the ghosting, I cant help with that.

hard to say, grain could be part of the image, after all film has grain, but ghosting is definitely not right. I would try a new cable/ adapter. Does your card have other outputs? did you try component?

Your Monitor should have its own set of display settings....try adjusting those instead.

Thanks for the replies. I just bought a dvi to hdmi cable. The animated movies I have seen look great like Wall-E. I'll try adjusting the monitor settings some more. My gtx card only has dvi as outputs on the card itself.
Anyway, thanks for the help.
