Default Sony BDP-S350 or Panasonic DMP-BD35

Hi Folks,

My brother wants to pick up a cheaper blu-ray player to go with his new tv so he's asked me to help out. In his budget are the Panasonic DMP-BD35 and Sony BDP-S350

He hasnt got a sound system yet, but in a couple of months is looking at getting a ps3 and denon avr 1910 with new speakers and moving this player to the bedroom.

In terms of speed/dvd upscaling/features/compatibility etc which is the best choice to go for? There's about 40 dollars in the price difference - the Panasonic being the more expensive

Also the shop are selling the BDP-S350 as multi region for dvd - if i update the firmware on the player to the latest (which i assume i'll have to do to get all discs working) will it lock the region on the player again?

Cheers,
Mick
