Default 2 inputs at same time?

Hello! I have a Pioneer Elite 03, and I have a squeezebox hooked up through optical, and a PS3 through HDMI. Is it possible for me to play a video game while listening to my squeezebox? I know I can switch wires around and do it that way.....but it is a pain to get to my wires, and I'm looking for an easy way! The squeezebox is hooked up with a digital analog cable(I think), and I have it listed under the CD output, if that matters. My PS3 is under the HDMI, both audio and video. I don't know what other info to put here, and I appreciate all of your help.

That's funny. I just found out the other day that my 705 will do two inputs at once (video on one and audio on another). If I have something coming through HDMI, I can put it on CD or Tape to get sound from that source, but the video stays on HDMI. I'm surprised your Elite doesn't have that ability.

Im pretty sure any digital receiver can do that. Choosing the audio input of that input could actually set two things working at the same time but who would really want to watch a movie or a game
without the real sound coming from it while listening to another audio? Thats just odd. Unless youre choosing this to do zone 2 then thats another story.

My receiver does that, but only if the music source is plugged into an input that doesn't have a video input associated with it, such as CD or Tape input. You can see if your receiver does that, just start at the video input, and try pressing the CD or other music input selection on the receiver and see if the picture stays.

Pioneer offers a feature on some of their receivers called "Video Select" that will permit what you are asking for:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pi...0940146600.pdf (see page 73)

You can listen to your selected audio source and watch your "video select" video source.

Default Reason

The reason I want to listen to music is for when I am playing football or some other sports game.....I just dont want to listen to the announcers, and would rather rock out while playing.....just something I wanna do, no other reason than that. Thanks for the responses, I put on the HDMI, and then pressed CD and that put it right to the CD input. I am gonna look through the link that the last guy posted(cant remember your name)....but seriously, thanks to everyone trying to help out with my issue!! I'll respond with my progress.

Default video select

I dont seem to have the option to change the "video Select" on my vsx-03thx...I've searched the manual, and googled it, and can't seem to find an answer......also I want to re-watch the Dark Side of Oz, so there is another good reason to listen to different audio, while watching a movie

Apparently, for some unknown reason, Pioneer omitted that feature. I used it all of the time on my VSX-09TX, but when I upgraded to the the VSX-29TX, the feature was not available. I don't know why the VSX-39TX had it and not the VSX-29TX.
