So after living in a garage for the last 5 years, My girlfriend and I have gotten our first place in the town where we are going to College. I love it here and equipment is setup decent right now, except I have no way of hiding the speaker wire for the surrounds.
You can look in my gallery and see the old setup and the new one, the living room is very open so it's hard to hide anything. I have already went from a 7.1 Setup to 5.1 and right this moment it's 3.1 and I'm not wanting to leave it at that. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I don't want wires showing everywhere. |

Like you I have hardwood floors, but I have a large area rug between my seating area and my HT stand. I run flatwire (Audioquest) cable underneath the carpet without issue.
Maybe that is a possibility? John |

Ok so I added a few more pics 2day, they are about the same as the others but all 5 speakers are hooked up and you can barely see any wires...I'm pretty happy with it and the girlfriend is to.
Please rate and if you have any suggestions plz let me know... Thanks |

Any suggestions guys? Anything you would change about the layout or location of speakers? Ignore the dog beds and pink blanket please, afterall I'm living with my girlfriend
![]() Also for the surrounds, is there any specific way they should be pointing? Like toe them in towards the center of the room, or point them directly at your ears from the listening position? |

The location looks good.... I'd still use the area rug to prevent echo if nothing else..... You could use wire-molds that run along the white molding on the floor... just use 3M adhesive and remove them when it's time to collect the deposit on the apartment....
One major DOWNGRADE from your Garage setup though...... Where's the Putter???? Your short-game is going to go into the toilet ![]() (and where's the Maker's Mark...... it's been a long day hasn't it ![]() |
