one of the top gangster films i've seen, it made me really appreciate Paul Bettany as an actor

Gangster No. 1 is a really underrated film, and I'm glad to see it coming to Blu-ray. Bettany is ace in it.

Not the kind of flick I was expecting, but a nice surprise! Malcom McDowell is fantastic in it, as well as the actor who portrays the young version of him.

The pq is average to below-average in some scenes. Nothing to get excited about.

I got Gangster No.1 and Sexy Beast the first day they got down in price (cheap about £5-7) and they are totally worth the money and they make a nice pair with Gangster being so brutal and Sexy being..well so Sexy..

I wish Sexy Beast was region free, or had a North American release, I love that film. I am still hanging on to my DVD of it until a BD is released. I did order Gangster No. 1 from the UK though since it is region free, and am really excited to check it out. Hopefully it will be here before the weekend.

I watched this the other day -terrible film still. Paul Bettany, I don't think he can act. David Thewlis -usually great- seems out of place.

The transfer is vastly superior to the DVD but it's still poor and it looks like nothing has been done to it. Saying that, it fits the film well and overall it's a nice package.

If anyone wants it I'll scan the cover/screengrabs and check the Region code tomorrow.

I'm willing to let mine go for £5.00 PPG too if you're in the UK or I'm after a USA slip cover for Superman Returns (Circuit City exclusive) DVD. Just the slipcover no content.

I did like the extras though as they're the rough onset type.

Screengrabs, to be fair the film does look much better via a TV. You'll see all the problems with the transfer with a screengrab. A screengrab could make virtually any film look back if you try hard enough. Easy here though:

For those asking about Sexy Beast, yes the Blu-ray is locked but the cheap HDDVD is not. So if you're that desperate for HD get that or go multiregion.

Sexy Beast is a great British gangster film and just a great film even if you don't like gangster films.

Now, that's a slipcover!

Amazon were doing that set for £14 a few weeks ago. All Region B except Gangster No.1.
